Our organization is a pet food pantry who assists those in the community feed their pets and prevent them from being dumped at a shelter or having to get rid of them due to financial hardships. In addition, we take in pregnant moms and babies who have been dumped and care for them from birth through adoption. I do the things I do, to give back to those in the community needing assistance. The fostering I do because I love watching the moms and puppies grow up healthy and happy.

My name is Laura and I am the president of CVRR. For 5 years I was the dog coordinator and board member for the Humane Society for Campbell County, where we had one of the largest and most respected foster-care-based rescues in the region. I have been a veterinary technician for 15 years. I have also been a trainer and behaviorist for 10+ years. My volunteers and I pulled away from HSCC because of a varying value system and different long-term goals, to create an organization based on a totally volunteer-run administration where every dollar goes to the animals' care. Educational outreach is also of paramount importance. Rescue has been a huge part of my life and my family's life, and we love having the opportunity to not only help animals get a well-deserved second chance but also play a part in completing a family with a new furry addition. Many volunteers in the rescue world I have found are very much animal people, but I enjoy the human aspect nearly as much as the opportunity to advocate for animals.

Dog Rescue Around Washington

Tacoma

DRAWsdogs@gmail.com
Dog Rescue Around Washington was formed in 2004 by four women deeply involved in rescue who have likeminded values and passion for the dogs in crisis in the world. We have several foster homes throughout the NW. Almost all of our dogs are hand picked from surrounding shelters, dogs at risk of euthinazia. Our goal is to put as many temperamentally sound dogs into responsible homes as possible. To achieve that goal, we take our time getting to know each adoptable dog, socializing and training them as needed. We see to any medical need from the basics to the extreme. Together, and networking with other rescues, many many lives have been saved since our conception. We consider those who have adopted from us, family. We are here to help for life. Adopting from us gives you someone to call in crisis, someone to offer advice and assistance. Even though your new dog now belongs to you, we feel it is our responsibility to stand by you to make your dogs life with you a success
