QT Kittens is a new 501(c)(3) charity established to provide food, shelter, and medical care to the most vulnerable kittens and pregnant queen cats in SWFL & the Lower Florida Keys. >^..^<

We have been doing this for over 8 years and just continue to evolve. Our main goal is to keep cats out of our shelters so they don’t get sick and die or be euthanized. We used to hold kitties till 3-4 months and spay/neuter and send to larger rescues for store adoptions. Many of the cats we get do not do well in the stores or are skittish when we get them. So we began looking for quality homes with experienced cat owners. It seems the more we do, the less the shelters around us do. They closed their doors to intakes back early in March when the virus hit and cats are being thrown everywhere to birth and nurse kittens in the cold outdoors or wherever they can try to find safety. It is heartbreaking. Since so many new fosters have stepped up, we decided now was our time to grow. But my records are a mess. I need desperate help.

The Stray Love Foundation began formally advocating for the local animal community in 2010 and, as a foster based animal rescue group has since placed over 1,400 animals in stable, safe and loving homes locally and throughout the country. The Stray Love Foundation has four primary missions: (1) To assist stray, injured and abandoned animals through vet care, fostering, and adoption; (2) TNR projects (trap, neuter, return) with the assistance of the Foley Police Department; (3) To facilitate and support the elderly and indigent with pet care, including vet costs, spay/neuter, and re-homing as necessary (also known as our Big Love Projects); and (4) To provide educational outreach programs to children and local groups to build awareness of the importance of companion animals as well as the importance of kind and compassionate treatment towards all animals. Our founder had always rescued on her own for decades but after moving to the Gulf Coast and the BP Oil spill occurred, the need for animal rescue increased exponentially. Being a business woman, our founder reached out to some of her peers to form a board and began formally operating as the Stray Love Foundation in April of 2010.

Sheltering Hands, Inc. is a volunteer based, limited intake, live release rescue formed in 2007. Our mission is to improve the lives of cats through humane care, spay/neuter, adoptions, education and support services. A network of foster homes and residence facilities provide care until a home is found. Sheltering Hands also participates in education programs about responsible pet care, as well as conducting programs and assistance for spay/neuter and injured animal needs. Volunteers whose goal is to care for the sheltered animals at Campbell County Animal Control, to support the ACO's who work there, and to assist residents of Campbell County with training questions, and act as a resource for rehoming pets, or offer other options.

We are all volunteer fosters who accept cats, kittens into our homes. Once healthy and old enough, the cats are then placed for adoption with carefully screened families. We do this for the love of the kitties!

Mission is No More Homeless Pets

We are a Trap, Neuter and Return group that recently opened a No-Kill, Free Roaming Cat Shelter. We found so many wonderful cats in the field we wanted to be able to provide them with adoption opportunities. We have TNR'd over 4,000 cats in the past five years.

Adopt-a-Kitty is an all species/breed caregiver to lost, homeless, and unwanted pets that are in need, locally and in nearby surrounding areas, concentrating mainly on cats and kittens. We accept “special needs” pets as well, when in need. In the last 5 years, we have placed hundreds of animals, a good portion pulled from high kill shelters. Our mission in life is to love, care for, and PLACE animals who haven't been given a chance. All pets are tested, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, etc. prior to adoption. We provide a safe place for our rescued pets to stay until a forever family can be found. We are a no kill shelter.
