German Shepherd Dog

We are a small, local, breed-specific non-profit rescue. We rescue abused/abandoned/neglected German Shepherd dogs, rehabilitate them and place them in permanent homes. We do not have a facility: dogs are housed in approved foster homes until they find their permanent home.

We rescue, care for, and rehabilitate dogs that may have medical issues and/ or may not be easiest to place because of lack of training and socialization. Many of our dogs are taken from the euthanasia lists at the County shelters; some are found dogs with no apparent homes.

Pet Haven is Minnesota's oldest animal rescue group. Founder is Paula Whiteamire, former vet tech at Safe Harbor Animal Hospital. Previously was the Director for Animal Helpers of NW Florida. Passionate about animals, especially 'bully breeds'. Future goals are to work with troubled youth and to get a foster dog program at women's prison in our area

We rescue dogs that are homeless or are on a shelters euthanasia list. We have them medically treated, altered, shots updated, micro-chipped with a life time free registration, Dogs that need their teeth cleaned get that done too.
