I am a volunteer at the shelter and also a volunteer team leader for MCAS marketing. I have helped in many ways: foster, adopter, coordinator for off-site adoptions, assist with rescues, dog walker, computer input, lost dog walk-thru, help to adopt to families. I do it because I don't think we should be killing adoptable animals and I know I can make a difference.

Started Sept 2004, home foster only in La & Ms, rescued over 1130 cats & dogs, NO KILL, *** 7 *** euthanasia, compassion for human companions who can NOT speak for themselves,

We are Animal Services for the Austin/Travis County Health & Human Services Department. We are an open-intake shelter that takes in over 21,000 animals each year. We provide Animal Protection, Care & Control for Austin/Travis County. We also provide an array of pet homelessness prevention programs.
