Rose's Rescue

A small group of volunteers..no paid employees. Our dogs are in area foster homes or they are housed at Rose's..in a heated pole building with a "bedroom" (toddler beds, a chair and a radio..so they can keep up on current events) with a dog door to a small fenced area to potty in through out the day and night. Then they get to play in a four acre fenced in area and swim in the pond every day too! We do not have a "shelter" per se and only under special circumstances are any of our animals "kenneled". They are very well socialized with people and other animals, which makes it much easier to know their temperaments. We do NOT take owner surrenders. But we will do courtesy posts for pets that are vetted and in need of homes. OUR MISSION STATEMENT Rose's Rescue is an all breed rescue for dogs and cats. We primarily concentrate on local pound rescues as we feel these are the animals in the most dire need of a second chance. We are committed to finding the best possible home for each, and every animal that comes into our rescue and we are available to help with any training or behavioral issues for the life of each animal. Rose's Rescue requires that any animal adopted through our organization be returned to us if for any reason the family is no longer able to care for them. Rose's Rescue is also committed to educating the public on the importance of spay and neuter, routine vaccinations, heartworm protection for dogs, and aids and leukemia testing for cats. According to the Humane Society of American over 4 million dogs, cats, kittens and puppies are killed each year. It is our goal to some day see no adoptable pets euthanized. Every two months, Rose’s Rescue chooses a few special candidates for a new class of dogs to be trained at the Trumbull Correctional Institution near Warren, Ohio. While enrolled in this program, each dog will be trained by selected inmates and overseen by professional dog trainer Bill Oliver (www.customcaninecompany.com) who generously volunteers his time with this laudable project. Upon completion of their training, cell dogs will have learned important socialization skills, have mastered basic obedience commands, and be fully housebroken. They will also be taught tricks to entertain their future families and friends, such as sitting pretty, playing dead, and give a high five. All dogs can be visited (by appointment and accompanied by a Rose’s Rescue representative) while at the prison. They can be adopted upon graduation, or occasionally sooner if a dog has done exceptionally well and is deemed ready to leave before the class is actually finished. All of our current cell dogs or graduates are designated as such in their individual descriptions in the “Our Adoptables” section of this website. If you’d like to get a jump-start on training your new pet, consider adopting a Rose’s Rescue cell dog!

We are a group of people pulling the animals from the pts list from high kill local shelters. We also pull the injured and very sick animals and get them the proper Vet care and then nurse them back to health before we adopt them out. This is very important to us and we pride ourselves on saving those animals in need and finding the the perfect "forever" homes for them. We are foster home based at this time, but are in the market to purchase and start a sanctuary and rehab facility. We will still have the foster homes once this happens. We are also in the process of filing for our 501c3 status.

We've done rescue for 15 yrs, 501(c)(3) for 12 yrs. We love dogs and try to find the most stable, loving homes possible. We believe in quality of adoptions, not quantity. In other words, each adoption is a lengthy process and applicants are screened to the best of our ability. Dogs are thoroughly vetted and groomed before they are adopted.

Mutts in Need

We are a group of volunteers in Southern California, primarily in Los Angeles and Orange Counties, dedicated to saving the lives of abandoned animals. We care for strays, abandoned animals, victims of abuse, and have rescued many from euthanization in animal shelters across California. At the present time we do not have a facility of our own to keep them, so we rely solely on the good will of foster families who care for them until they can be placed in permanent homes. We also work closely with other rescue groups and we are always in need of volunteers to assist in showing the animals on weekends and especially to foster pets until they are adopted. Our founders started many years ago as volunteers with various non-profit organizations across the United States and have made pet rescue a major part of their lives. Most of us have our own families of dogs, cats, and other pets who once were also rescues. "Critters in Need Pet Rescue" is an established animal rescue and placement group. With your help and the help of our friends, we will be able to save many lives and bring much happiness to many people and animals alike. We are constantly in need of help in various fields of pet adoption. Volunteers are desperately needed to provide foster homes, help showing animals to the public in pet shows and events, home visitations, publicity, pet transportation and a number of other projects aimed at placing as many animals as we can in the very best of homes. If you would like to become a volunteer please send an E-Mail to CrittersRescue@gmail.com

We are a no kill rescue group in southern california. Our primary focus is rescuing animals off of death row and local high kill shelters before they are to be euthanized. We then either board them or place them in foster homes so we can better access their personalities before placing them in loving homes. All our animals are seen by our vets, spayed/neutered, given approriate vaccines, some are microchipped, FELV/FIV tested if they are cats, heartworm tested for dogs and given flea treatment prior to adoption.
