The Amarillo SPCA is a 501(c)3 non profit organization. We operate solely on donations and fundraisers. We operate a shelter for dogs and cats and have approximately 140 animals, most of which are housed at the shelter. A few live temporarily in foster homes. One of our main concerns as an organization is pet over population. It is important that the public be educated about the importance of spaying and neutering their pets. It is also our goal to make sure every animal that is adopted from the SPCA is sterilized before going to a new home. We receive calls daily from people who request help with their animals--either needing to give them up or asking for help with food and medical needs. We help whenever we can. Our kennels are full most of the time but we will try our hardest to accommodate any animal that is homeless or needing a home. Because of our own expenses, we rarely are able to help the public with pet care costs. We do provide spay and neuter vouchers for a significantly reduced fee. We also provide microchipping services to the general public for a reduced fee. We have grown to the extent that volunteers alone cannot provide necessary hours for operating the kennels. We have a shelter manager and part time employees along with volunteers who work hard maintaining the shelter. Many animals we bring into the shelter need immediate medical care, and all animals that come to us receive their shots, a microchip and sterilization before being adopted into their new homes. Frequently these expenses are far more than the adoption fee of $100. It is our duty to provide the best medical treatment possible regardless of cost for our animals--and therefore our vet bills are always very large. We have created this website to provide accessible information concerning all of the animal related organizations and events that are occuring in the Texas Panhandle as well as a resource base for those seeking advice or care for their pets. Therefore, we invite anyone who is affiliated with a particular animal welfare organization, specialized pet-owner group (such as pet therapy or obedience training,) or any business that is in the service of animals (veterinarians, groomers, pet sitters, etc.) to contact us so that we may tell the public about your organization or business. We do, however, respectfully decline to list any breeders or to promote breeding services as it is not in alignment with our mission of curbing the pet overpopulation crisis. We are the only no-kill shelter in Northern Baja California. We rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home hundreds of dogs and cats, taking them from horrible living conditions to the lives they deserve.

We are the only no-kill shelter in Gilmer County. We began in 2000 and have rescued 6,000 animals. We are all volunteers dedicated to helping homeless animals find their forever homes.

Pug Rescue of North Carolina (PRONC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the Pug Dog Breed. We rescue pugs in crisis, carefully nursing them back to health, physically and emotionally, in individual PRONC volunteer’s homes. Each pug is treated as family until such time as a suitable home, which has been screened and approved by the membership, can be located. Many pugs come to PRONC with minor to severe health challenges. We make every effort to save each animal that comes into our care, saving euthanization for only the extreme, and very rare case where there is no other reasonable option. We have every pug evaluated by a veterinarian and they are spayed/neutered, heartworm checked, micro-chipped and brought up to date on all vaccinations. At this time, due to limited resources, we are only accepting pure bred pugs. However, we rescue pugs of any age or health. Our ability to accept an animal is limited to available space and funding. Thanks to you, we have saved many pugs from being put down at overcrowded animal shelters. PRONC has no paid employees and is supported through your kind gift donations and through the wonderful efforts of our family of volunteers. We are a group of woman in the entertainment industry that rescue dogs in our spare time. We rescue them from shelters, streets and abusive situations because we love them!

We are a group of volunteers in Southern California, primarily in Los Angeles and Orange Counties, dedicated to saving the lives of abandoned animals. We care for strays, abandoned animals, victims of abuse, and have rescued many from euthanization in animal shelters across California. At the present time we do not have a facility of our own to keep them, so we rely solely on the good will of foster families who care for them until they can be placed in permanent homes. We also work closely with other rescue groups and we are always in need of volunteers to assist in showing the animals on weekends and especially to foster pets until they are adopted. Our founders started many years ago as volunteers with various non-profit organizations across the United States and have made pet rescue a major part of their lives. Most of us have our own families of dogs, cats, and other pets who once were also rescues. "Critters in Need Pet Rescue" is an established animal rescue and placement group. With your help and the help of our friends, we will be able to save many lives and bring much happiness to many people and animals alike. We are constantly in need of help in various fields of pet adoption. Volunteers are desperately needed to provide foster homes, help showing animals to the public in pet shows and events, home visitations, publicity, pet transportation and a number of other projects aimed at placing as many animals as we can in the very best of homes.
