2nd Chance Animal Rescue is about giving animals a second chance at finding their forever homes. We promote spaying and neutering of all animals, that is why each one of our animals are up to date on shots, microchipped, and spayed/neutered before they are available for adoption. We are a not-for-profit animal rescue and we are supported by donations from the community. Our team continues to feverishly fight animal cruelty, homelessness, and sickness in Wayne County.
1. Potential adopter to complete adoption application including the Contract for Adoption.
2. The Volunteer accepting the application will review the application for completion and sign the volunteer section of the Adoption Application confirming the application has been received.
3. The volunteer that has signed the application will attempt to contact at least two (2) of the references listed by the potential adopter.
4. If the potential adopter has a landlord, the volunteer MUST contact the landlord for confirmation the landlord will allow the animal in the home.
5. The volunteer will contact an Advisory Board member and review the application including references.
a. If the Board member is unavailable to sign at time of review, a verbal consent can be taken with that member signing the application within 24 hours of the verbal consent.
6. Pending both the Board member and volunteer approve the application, the volunteer will offer adoption.
a) a signed adoption contract must be collected or adoption will be voided. b) Adoption fee must be collected in the form of cash or debit/credit card
7. The volunteer will provide the adopter with all the animalâs records.
8. If possible, the volunteer should take a picture of the animal with his/her adopter.
9. The volunteer will enter all adoption information into the Animal Shelter's Computer System within 24 hours post adoption
10. If the adoption has been approved and the adopter does not obtain the animal within 72 hours of the accepted application, the adopter has waived their application and any paid fees.

Dog - $90
Kitten - $90
Cat - $45
