Description

Animals in Distress is a 501c3, all volunteer, non-profit organization that has serviced the Mercer County, NJ area for more than 30 years. As one of the oldest rescue groups in the area, our primary focus has been the rescue of abandoned, abused and neglected cats and kittens.

While we do not take in dogs, we have on occasion helped people who incur sudden and high medical bills for their sick or injured dogs.

Adoption Process

We have an initial application and a reference check process prior to adoption approval. You must be 21 years of age or older to adopt. If approved, our adoption fee is $75.00. Fee of $125.00 for two (2) animals adopted together to the same home. Fee includes vaccinations, testing for FeLV & FIV, and the spay/neuter of the cat.
