Our organization is devoted to rescuing and rehoming bassets and beagles in Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri and Iowa. BBRH also puts great emphasis on educational efforts regarding these breeds and responsible pet ownership. In recent year, we are pulling and arranging the transport of dogs from as far away as Tennessee and Alabama. We are group who are passionate about hounds and providing them loving homes. We were originally started in Kansas over 10 years ago but the majority of our volunteers are now currently based out of Omaha, Nebraska. It's why our address is Nebraska but unfortunately we have been unable to update that on PetFinder so we are still listed as Kansas. Luckily we are able to locate the dogs as being in Omaha so they show up on local searches.
All adoptions start with an adoption application so that we can help make a good match. We do a vet check on all applicants to make sure current or recent pets were up-to-date on vaccinations and heartworm preventative. All dogs are adopted current on their vaccinations, spayed/neutered (for puppies too young to alter, there is a deposit required which is returned upon proof of alter) and microchipped. We have an adoption contract with a number of conditions and requirements which I'd be happy to send to you. Our adoption fees range from $100-300 depending on the age of the dog.
