Allow me to introduce the new face of Boston Terrier Rescue of Florida, Inc.
Our existing Beautiful Logo of Three Boston Terrier heads in the Profile picture also signifies the three components of our Rescue, The Rescue Ranch, located in Georgia, The Senior Centers, located in Tennessee, and The Pups In Need program (P.I.N.) here in Florida. Each component serves a specific role creating a Rescue Team that will take us far into the future, saving Boston Terriers using cutting edge technology and good old fashioned loving care.
The Rescue Ranch provides care for the dogs housed there. They act as a large foster home providing outdoor playtime, socialization, activities, vet care, and training to the dogs there. They also act as an emergency shelter, a triage center for incoming dogs, a stop (hub) on transports, and as a gathering, training and event space. Our link: https://www.facebook.com/therescueranch
The Senior Centers provide a safe, stable, comfort controlled environment for seniors to live out the remainder of their lives with comfort, stability, and dignity. They care for various medical needs including maintenance medications & veterinary care for the Seniors and chronically ill Boston Terriers of all ages. The Pups In Need (P.I.N) Program is a more traditional rescue, vet, foster, adopt program, but only on the surface. We are training a large and ever growing group of fosters to be specialized in the type of care they provide, including a Critical Care Coordinator and a partnership with Hospice, Training Professionals, and other special care units. Adoption Process
We are so excited you are considering adding a furry friend to your family! We canât wait to work with you and find the perfect match!
All our adoptions follow the same process. First, please complete an adoption application. If you already have your eye on a specific baby, you can write their name in on the form, if not, donât worry we will help make the perfect match for you. Please remember that just because you write a dogâs name in, that it is not a guarantee that dog will be available. If we have multiple applicants on a dog we will be looking for the best fit for that dog, but donât worry we will help you!
After you complete the adoption application we will email you to let you know it has been received. A volunteer will begin processing the application which consists of: verifying information, completing a vet reference, checking personal references, and lastly a home visit to be approved.
Common Questions:
How long does it take?
Applications take on average 1-2 weeks to complete. Please remember we are all volunteers. A great way to speed this up is to let your references know they will be receiving a call from us, one of the number one reasons applications get slowed down is waiting on return calls from your references. You may also want to let your vet know we are calling as some wonât release information without your consent. Also, double check the phone numbers. addresses, and emails you provide.
Why do you ask so many questions?
Dogs coming from our rescue have ended up with us because someone along the way failed them. Our commitment is to the dogs and we want to make sure to get the right match. Maybe you have your heart set on Fluffy, but Fluffy is terrified of elevators and you live on the 12th floor of a condo building. Fluffy might not be the right dog for you, but with all the information we have we can show you some other matches that might be just what you are looking for!
What happens if the dog I want is adopted?
Donât worry! The right match is out there for you and we will help you consider other possibilities that meet your needs.
Why should I apply if I donât see the right dog yet?
If you are looking to adopt a âhighly desirableâ dog we suggest getting pre-approved. Dogs that are young (under 3, and especially puppies), female, very small (under 15 lbs), etc usually have a lot of interest. If the dog you are looking for fits any of those characteristics, we recommend getting on the approved list now. When the dog you are looking for pops up you can let us know immediately to be first in line.
