Henderson Animal Centerâs mission is to provide temporary shelter and excellent care for stray, unwanted, and homeless animals for the city, promote responsible pet ownership, protect our citizens by housing public nuisance animals brought by local law enforcement, and prevent unnecessary euthanasia by diligently striving to locate homes for every animal possible within our care. All activities shall be in compliance with state, federal, and local laws and regulations, and duties shall be performed by a humane and professional staff. The purpose of our Animal Protection is to enforce city ordinances directly related to animals, respond to animal concerns within the city, handle strays and wildlife as needed, and educate the public on proper animal care and ownership.
We require an approved adoption application, Cat adoption fee is $45, Dog adoption fee is $55, Altered Dog/Cat fee is $25, other animal fee is $10, Adoption contract signed stating animal must be fixed within 30 days if 6 months of age at time of adoption, and cannot be given to another individual. Person signing adoption contract must be 18 years old or older.
