Description

C.A.R.E. Medical Fund provides emergency medical funding and assistance to companion animals in our shelters. C.A.R.E. initially started as a funding source for small, local shelters that did not have in-house medical care. We have since become a medical-only rescue implementing life-saving programs that save the lives of at-risk shelter pets.

Adoption Process

1. The first step is to complete the Adoption Application.

Once we receive your application, you will be contacted within 48 hours.

2. Your application will then be assigned to a volunteer that will schedule a home visit.

The home visit allows us to get a better understanding of your family and your lifestyle, so you meet dogs that fit your family. All members of your family must be present for the home visit.

3. Once you are approved, the foster home will contact you.

All our dogs are in foster homes, so you will need to be an approved adopter before meeting any of our rescue dogs.

4. The foster home will schedule a meet-and-greet.

All members of your family must be present for the meet and greet. If you have other pets, a controlled introduction to other pets in the home will also be conducted at this time. We want to make sure everyone gets along!

5. You have 24 hours to make your decision.

Once you have met your potential new family member, you have 24 hours to make your decision. You will need to contact the foster home with your decision within that time frame, otherwise, the foster home will contact the next family in line.

6. An Adoption Agreement will be completed, and you will receive all medical and vaccination information.

All our rescues have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Medical history from our veterinary office partners will be included.

7. The adoption fee is collected.

8. You get to take your new family member home!
