Dogs In Danger Rescue, now DBA East Coast Adoptions, was founded in 2007 in order to help dogs that need homes immediately to avoid euthanasia.
We have re-homed thousands of dogs and puppies in the past few years from high kill shelters to loving homes.
We consistently work with shelters that transport to us in West Virginia, Ohio, North Carolina, Georgia, and Arkansas where there aren't enough adopters to save these dogs in shelters. Many of the communities are very rural, and ultimately do not have the resources or people to adopt all the dogs that come into the shelter every day. The sad truth is some shelters have to euthanize 8 out of 10 dogs that come in simply because they do not have enough space. These dogs are sometimes housebroken, spayed/neutered, good with dogs/cats/kids, and would have made perfect family pets.
All dogs are vetted prior to adoption and all adopters receive 30 days of insurance for free.
An application must be filled out on our website, which is reviewed and references checked. A meet and greet is conducted at the fosters location and if all goes well, potential adopters may take home their adopted pet.
The adoption fee varies but averages in the $100-$350 range. Fees slightly higher at our Cape Code location
