Fur Babies Rescue is a no-kill animal rescue group located in Hickory, NC, in the Western Piedmont area. We are a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit and place between 50 and 100 cats and dogs into permanent homes each year.

A donor gave us a wonderful gift of a 5 unit rental property that we are upgrading over the next 18 months and then most of the rental income will cover spay/neuter for our rescues and low income family pets. We are in the process of formally adding dogs to our program now. We have been referring most dogs to a local dog rescue that closed last week and that will increase our work with dogs.

Adoption application must be approved by a board member, prefer homeowners but will allow renters to adopt with property management approval, Fees vary depending on the pet, Spay/Neuter required for all pets before leaving rescue or agreement for new family to bring the pet back for their prepaid spay/neuter appointment if the pet is adopted before their surgery date. We follow up to make sure all are taken to their appointment. We use Humane Society Catawba County for our spay, neuter, vaccinations and Animal Hospital North for other medical needs.
