Description

We are a 501c3 IRS approved non- profit charity.  Heaven Can Wait Animal Rescue and Sanctuary is committed to rescuing and providing safe haven for neglected, unwanted, injured, abandoned and/or companion animals labeled as ‘unadoptable’.  We are devoted to healing their bodies and improving their lives; and giving them proper care, food and shelter while providing the bridge to their forever homes.  We nurture, socialize, exercise, and provide love and good nutrition to companion animals until their forever, loving home can be found.   We provide rehabilitation and sanctuary for those that are too traumatized by past abuse or are ill or old.  We provide whatever they need - medical care, special food, soft dog beds, daily care and feeding and lots of love - for a safe, comfortable and happy life.  Ultimately, we are with them for end-of-life care. Â

NOTE: We have a web site but are interested in your services and would like to transition our current web site to something like word press or something that is not html coded - but we have some questions regarding links to a web site on your platform - pdf fillable adoption applications from an outside source, domain transfer, etc. Is there someone we can talk to or is it by email only? I look at all your videos but need some more help. We also are all volunteer.

Adoption Process

Our adoption fees normally vary from $150 to $300, based upon the vet costs. Although they do not cover the costs, it helps. Most of our small breed mixes are $150. Interested families must complete an application. Incomplete applications will slow the process. All applications are reviewed by our Animal Care Manager (ACM). She will contact individual as soon as she receives the application to begin the process. Our goal is to make the best "forever home" match possible based upon the pet's needs. Our ACM is also responsible for veterinarian and home checks, and can answer any questions regarding the pet or adoptions. Family can make an appointment with her to meet the pet.

In the rare instance that we place a puppy that is too young for spay/neuter surgery, we will charge a refundable deposit and monitor the puppy to make sure it is altered as soon as it old enough. At that time, we will return the deposit to the owner. An adoption contract with HCW will require family's signature prior to completing the adoption of new family member. We never know when a dog will need help. We have rescued larger dogs and even kittens (very short term as we're not a safe place for cats) -- we work with other rescues to transfer and place them.
