Hopkins Cat Rescue is a shelter/adoption center dedicated to helping cats and kittens from all backgrounds. Whether found outside, surrendered by an owner, or born at our facility our mission is to save as many cats as possible and find them their forever homes. Founded by a Veterinarian who has made it her lifeâs work to help animals of all sizes, this rescue is medically educated, compassionate and determined to make a difference in our community and the lives of the cats in our shelter.
All potential adopters are required to come to our adoption facility located at 111 E sunrise highway in Freeport NY. After they have spent time bonding and pick a kitten(s) they then fill out an adoption contract and provide all necessary information. We contact veterinarian references and two personal references as well as the land-lord if they rent their apartment or home. All kittens are vaccinated, spayed/neutered, dewormed and given flea treatment prior to being placed as available for adoption. Our adopters sign a contract agreeing their new family member will be indoor only, they will care for them properly, will contact HCR directly if there are any issues or concerns, will not de-claw, and in a worst case scenario where they cannot keep their cat or kitten they agree to bring the animal back to us directly. Once all references check out the adoption fee is $150.00 per kitten
