The Humane Society of Coleman County, serving Coleman and Runnels Counties, was incorporated in Texas in December 2003. We have a 501c3 determination. Our primary mission is providing discounted spay/neuter vouchers to low-income families in our economically depressed, rural counties. Secondarily, we do what we can to rescue adoptable pets from the streets and the city kill shelters. We are also involved in education programs in the schools, primarily through use of KIND News.

We ask for adoption information via email narratives covering the family's home environment, lifestyle, pets, etc. We have an Adoption Agreement signed at the time of adoption outlining the basic requirements for the care of the animal, including a return policy. Our fees depend on whether the adopter lives in our counties or in other areas in Texas. They range from $65 to $110. All our pets are spayed or neutered before adoption.
