We are a family run, local, foster based dog rescue located in Cedarburg, WI. We help homeless shelter dogs from southern states by transporting them to WI and placing them in foster and finding loving forever homes for them. We also help homeless local dogs find loving, forever home. We promote responsible pet ownership through education.

$500.00ADOPTION PROCESS: Step by Step Guide

1. Review adoption requirements and ensure you meet the necessary criteria to apply!

2. Apply: Fill out adoption application completely and submit all necessary documents.

3. Application processing: we do a thorough background check, landlord approval (if applicable) or home ownership verification, vet check, and review your application. This process can take up to 5 business days.

1\. note: if renting, please have your landlord write letter of approval for you to have a dog and either send to muttlifewi@gmail.com or submit document during application submission. 2\. Please call vet and authorize them to release medical information with us. 

4. Application Decision: approved applicants will be notified via phone call and email.

5. Foster-to-Adopt Trial Period: after approval, you have the chance to do a meet and greet and bring your dog home! You get a 5 day foster-to-adopt (FTA) period to make sure its the right fit.

6. Final Decision: By the end of the FTA period, please let us know your final decision to adopt or return the dog to our rescue.

7. Home Visit: After the adoption process we conduct a home visit either in person or via zoom meeting to ensure that everything is going well with the transition and to answer any final questions you may have.

8. Neuter/spay for puppies: if dogs are adopted prior to 6 months of age and are not neutered/spayed yet, we will work with you to coordinate an appointment with one of our veterinary clinic partners or you can go through your vet and we will give you a partial adoption fee reimbursement.Â
