About Planned Pethood, Inc: Planned Pethood, Inc. is a foster-based animal rescue program serving Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan. Established in 1979, our non-profit organizationâs mission is to reduce the overpopulation and suffering of dogs and cats through education and low-cost spay-neuter programs, and to rescue, care for, and place adoptable dogs and cats into good, permanent homes. Our no-kill methods are education, low-cost spay/neuter programs and a wide-spread adoption program that rescues unwanted animals, sees to their veterinary needs and places them into permanent, loving homes. The more money we have, the more lives we can save right here in our community.
I am the executive director and do so for my love of animals and respect for the practices of PPI.
Planned Pethood requires a full application be submitted for every animal being applied for. We then review and carefully screen and check vetting history (spay/neuter, vaccinations, heart worm prevention) for every animal owned by the applicant in the past 5 years. We also double check home ownership and pet policies with rentals to ensure there will be no issue with taking the pet home. We do home visits and virtual home visits for all dog adoptions, a contract is signed upon completion of all of the previously mentioned and our adoption fees are collected via cash/check/online payment portal.
