Redwood Pals Rescue is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to support rescue and adoption efforts of animals that are at risk in the Humboldt County Animal Shelter in addition to working to improve the quality of their lives....We pay to take the rescue and shelter dogs to much-needed training each week, pay for boarding when we have more dogs that need rescuing than we have space in foster homes, pay the balance on spay and neutering when the grants run out, pay medical costs for our rescue dogs, pay for food when our generous foster families are tapped out, pay for leashes and treats when the shelter runs low and all the miscellaneous items that give our rescue and shelter animals a better life.
We have a $175 negotiable adoption fee that covers spay/neuter, shots, microchip. We usually (but not always) have the person foster before adopting to make sure it is the right fit. We have both foster and adoption agreements. Generally, there will be several meetings, home visit, trial foster, then adoption.
