RACS is a small open-intake municipal shelter with big dreams. We passed a No Kill resolution in 2018 and have been steadily working to implement and shape programs that are part of the No Kill Equation in order to save more lives. As of August 2019, RACS has achieved more than a 90% save rate for all of its animals for 6 consecutive months.
Adoption fees vary depending on specials, but all potential adopters will be asked to go through an adoption interview with a staff member or senior volunteer and meet the pet on-site. Questions will be asked to ensure it is the best match. An adoption contract may be submitted for review, and a week-long foster-to-adopt trial is allowed.
