Description

The Humane Society is nonprofit corporation governed by a Board of Directors comprised of volunteers from the community who are dedicated to animal welfare. We are committed to the general welfare, shelter and placement of animals, prevention of animal cruelty and overpopulation, and education concerning humane treatment of all living creatures. The Society is not controlled or funded by any local, state, or national organization.

Founded in 1912, we have been here when you needed us…the Ross County Humane Society is an independent organization supported by members, contributors, and bequests. Your tax-deductible donation will help us save more animals and do more for people!

Adoption Process

Adoption fees range from $79-$250. All applicants must fill out an application. Vet and landlord references are checked. Then the applicant needs to come meet the dog. If their are dogs in the home we do an introduction at the shelter and/or a 5 day foster program to make sure it's a good match. Then pay the adoption fee and fill out an adoption contract.
