Description

Shelter Animals Adocates rescues dogs from Aiken County/City and other rescue/ shelters in our state. We often step in to help support animal efforts for overwhelmed rescues/shelters who help our state/county we foster the dogs, get them ready for adoption, by spay-neuter and other medical needs, We care for them until they can be adopted or move to a no-kill rescue. Under our HeartBeat Campaign we provide HW treatment for heartworm positive dogs rescued from Aiken County shelter, heartworm treatment takes about four months to complete. Most dogs we have for adoption have no where else to go, they are often bully mixes that no rescue has time to adopt out as fosters are hard to commit to lengthy fosters stays. Dogs we have for adoption often wait for months to find the right home. Please consider donating so we can continue our efforts in our state.

Adoption Process

To apply to adopt one of our dogs, complete application form. You will then be contacted to arrange a home visit. In order to arrange a 'meet & greet' you MUST complete an application. Our adoption fee is $150. If you are out of our service area, you are responsible for transport and any associated fees. All our dogs are spayed-neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm prevention and have been dewormed and microchipped. Transfer of the microchip and any related fees are your responsibility. The dogs that were rescued under our HeartBeat program have received heartworm treatment and are HW negative. All adopters sign a contract.
