Description

We are a life-saving shelter serving, first and foremost, local animal populations and pet owners. We are independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to the promotion of animal welfare, to the protection, sheltering, and placement of companion animals into responsible, loving homes, to humane education in the community, and to local, state and national animal advocacy.

We consider it our responsibility to the community to do the following:

Protect and provide shelter for lost, abandoned and relinquished animals.

- Provide adoption opportunities for all animals under our care.

- Promote the care and well being of all living creatures through education.

- Provide effective means for the prevention of cruelty to animals and encourage kindness toward animals.

- Educate the public on pet overpopulation and proper animal care.

- Campaign for all companion animals to be spayed and neutered.

- Fund a low cost spay/neuter program with the cooperation of local veterinarians.

We do this because we love the animals and we believe with the right tools and education, our community can be equipped to treat all animals with respect and care.

Adoption Process

Our fees vary on the age of the animal and discounts are offered for senior citizens, residents on ADA, and military vets. All adoptable animals have received medical treatment including spay/neuter surgeries, updates on their vaccinations and rabies, they are tested for contagious or deadly diseases, brought up-to-date on flea and tick medication, and any other important health concerns are addressed. All of our animals are microchipped as well. Because of this, our fees range from $90 for a pair of barn cats to $375 for a puppy under 6 months of age.

All adopters must pass a veterinarian check regarding the medical records of previous pets, and we will contact landlords of any renters applying to adopt to make sure permission has been acquired.

If for any reason an adopter needs to surrender the animal they adopt from us, they are required to bring it back to our shelter and not try to rehome it themselves.
