South Bend Animal Resource Center (SBARC) is an open admission municipal animal control shelter and animal based community center.
My name is Sue and I am the Volunteer Coordinator at the Shelter. I try to bring the community into the shelter to bring comfort to the animals as they wait to be adopted. Having Volunteers with the animals lowers stress and entices potential adopters. There is a Maximum of 20 Adoption Kennels, so helping the animals feel relief can help them find a home sooner.
Adoption Application, 2 to 3 Business Days to process.
Approved Applicants schedule to meet pet. If they own a dog have it come meet potential new dog. Make sure both dogs are okay with each other.
If approved to adopt animal, come in, sign contract, pay adoption fee ($85 for dogs, $35 for cats), receive paperwork with medical information and their new pet.
