SPCA of Southwest Michigan (SPCA) is a volunteer led and operated organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and responsible adoption of homeless pets. SPCA provides its rescued animals with veterinary care, vaccinations and spay/neuter surgery, as well as socialization and rehabilitation within our foster home system and at our shelter.
To date, SPCA of Southwest Michigan has rescued and adopted out more than 9,000 dogs, puppies, cats and kittens since its inception in 2002. The organization rescues abandoned pets that might otherwise be euthanized in pound facilities.
The SPCA of Southwest Michigan is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit animal welfare organization that operates solely on private donations and service fees charged upon adoption. The Rescue and Adoption Center is located at 6955 West KL Avenue, Kalamazoo, Michigan 49009.

Dogs and Cats adopted from SPCA of Southwest Michigan have received the following: *Spay or neuter surgery, *Rabies vaccination, *Bordatella nasal vaccination, up-to-date at the time of adoption, *DHPP or DHLPP vaccination, up-to-date at the time of adoption, *Generalized de-worming, *Minimum of one fecal test for parasites, *Heartworm test (adult dogs only), *Preventative treatment for fleas and ticks, *Preventative treatment for heartworm, *Micro-chip for identification, transferred to adopter. Individuals adopting pets from the SPCA of Southwest Michigan must agree to establish a relationship with a veterinary clinic within 10 days of the date of adoption for ongoing care of the animal. If a dog is too young to be spayed/neutered at the time of adoption, adopters receive a refund of a $25 deposit upon documentation that the sterilization procedure (paid by SPCA) is complete.
This pet also is eligible for 30 days of pre-paid pet health insurance.
