Whisker Stop is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping local animals in need. We serve the Phelps County and surrounding areas, of Missouri. Our mission is to decrease the population and lessen the suffering of unwanted and feral animals in the Phelps County Missouri and surrounding areas, through spay/neuter programs, adoptions, and other no-kill alternatives.

All interested adopters must complete a Whisker Stop adoption application. Applicants must have current animals up to date on all vaccinations, spay/neutered, and up to date on flea/tick and/or heartworm preventative. All applicants must agree to standard background check, home check, and lease check (if applicable). All approved applicants must read and sign an adoption contract, which stipulates the necessary requirements for each applicant. Requirements include that applicant is capable of providing shelter, sustenance, water, and medical care to animal for the remainder of its life. Applicants may not perform any cosmetic surgery on a Whisker Stop adopted animal including but not limited to: declawing, tail docking, ear cropping, etc.. Adoption donation fees are collected and subject to the animal in question. This fee is collected to reimburse monies spent on the care of the animal while in rescue, including but not limited to: veterinary care costs, food costs, grooming costs, etc..
