Safe Place for Pets is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit pet placement organization that provides care, support and rehoming services for pets of terminally ill people. For more than 20 years, Safe Place for Pets has compassionately served pet owners diagnosed with terminal illnesses. We have found forever homes for over 1,000 of their beloved pets while also providing needed veterinary care and support. At Safe Place, we place a heavy emphasis on making sure our pets receive quality veterinary services when placed in our care. All of our pets undergo a veterinary examination and are up-to-date on vaccinations, spay/neutered and undergo a comprehensive oral health assessment and treatment when recommended by a veterinarian, ensuring that each pet is happy, healthy and ready for their new forever homes.

"Compassion, Dignity, and Service." Our intent is to establish a dog rescue that will directly impact the common issues faced by local community animal shelter services: reducing financial stress on shelters, alleviating capacity issues, and preventing euthanasia as much as humanly possible. We will always rescue an animal from an abusive or neglectful situation while following state and county laws, and we will assist with re-homing dogs through an owner surrender program that will further prevent dogs from being taken to area shelters. Striving to educate people on animal cruelty prevention and the importance of spaying and neutering animals will always be a supplementary action. During this journey, we will always strive to put more compassion into the world whenever and wherever possible.

For Kitty’s Sake is an all-volunteer, nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization. We work within our community to provide a safe haven, medical support, foster placement and adoptive homes for cats in need. We depend upon our foster parents, board members, and volunteers at the cat adoption center at the PetSmart in Mantua, to care for our cats while they await adoption. We have developed a partnership with local veterinarians at Clementon Animal Hospital who work with us on a case-by-case basis, and who continue to impress us with their commitment to our mission. We prioritize the health and well-being of each and every cat that comes to us and are proud to be one of the few local groups who will invest the time and attention to making sure that all of our cats go to homes in which they will be loved and well-cared for for the rest of their lives! Our goal is to ensure a quality life for each and every one of our cats.

Appalachian Peace Paws Rescue is a small group of volunteers who work together to change the lives of every animal that we meet! We believe in educating the public on the importance of spay/neuter, TNR, handling special needs animals, and what to do when they find an orphaned animal. We do presentations to groups wanting to learn more, classes, and other venues. We believe in implementing a TNR program for community cats to reduce the number of homeless animals in shelters and the number of euthanasia's done by shelters. We believe in rescuing and rehabilitating animals to get them ready for adoption. Our animals come from owner surrenders, full kill shelters, abandoned on the streets, feral colonies, and neglectful situations.
