Key to Lion's Heart Rescue

P.O. Box 5570
MD
20855
I am the founder/president of Key to Lion's Heart Rescue. I rescue because I have a passion for animals and want to help the homeless dogs as well as educate the community. This is my mission statement for my rescue: Key to Lion’s Heart Rescue’s mission is to help save lives of animals that are in shelters or abusive and neglectful situations and give them a chance in life as well as educate the community on animal welfare. We are a foster and volunteer based rescue and rely solely on donations and fundraising to care for our dogs. Through our foster program we provide a loving, nurturing and safe environment for all our animals and address all their needs. We provide all our animals while in our care with vaccines, micro-chips, heartworm test and alter when age appropriate. We provide rehabilitation and training to those in need and work with all our dogs to prepare them for adoption into responsible and loving homes. Through our outreach program we aim to educate the community and our youth about the importance of animal welfare, proper nutrition and the importance of spay/neuter. We will work with the youth by going into the schools and inviting students to participate in our community fundraisers and events. We want them to be a part of the mission to end cruelty and the over population of animals in the shelters. It is our youth that will help change the future of animal welfare.

Fur Angels Animal Sanctuary

IL

Fur Angels Animal Sanctuary is an all volunteer foster based animal rescue network based in Illinois and Northwest Indiana. A core group of volunteers live in the Chicago Suburbs and surrounding Chicagoland area. As a small non-profit, Fur Angels works tirelessly to giving all animals a second chance at finding a forever home. Without having an actual shelter, we have many volunteers who have opened their homes to exotic animals and some with special needs. This rescue is unique because we foster many animals deemed unadoptable. We rescue dogs, cats, birds, bunnies, reptiles, turtles, hedgehogs, guinea pigs, rodents, fish and more!

We have been an organization for over 30 years now. We just recently built a new shelter in May of 2016. We were in a run down building that had cracks, holes, mice and bugs. We have come far from that and have a much better facility to house the animals in a safe and comfortable environment. We are here to save more lives and to educate the community on animal welfare and animal care.

We are a large, municipal shelter that serves Maricopa county, including Phoenix, AZ. In the past year, we have worked hard to save the lives of all animals that come through our door unless they are extremely sick or aggressive to the point they are a danger to the public. Much of our success has come through social media and our online networking. We take in around 33,000 animals a year between our 2 shelters. We have a 94% live release rate, however we need to be able to work to get our most at-risk population out of the shelter in a shorter period of time. Presently, we have dogs that stay over 3 months, at which point they start to deteriorate due to the stressful environment and lack of exercise and enrichment. We accept all strays (severely injured go to AZ Humane Society) and owner surrenders (managed admissions of 10/day with no stipulations). We are working hard on all fronts to save lives and we feel that being allowed to network using your data base would do even more to help us save lives.

Anarchy Animal Rescue was founded in Dec of 2010 out of need and desire to help address two major animal crises in this country - unwanted adoptable pets and the mistreatment and abuse of animals due to puppy mills. Our goal is to find good loving homes for as many pets as we can take in, care for medically and place in responsible homes. After years of working in various animal shelters and fostering and volunteering with local rescue groups, we decided the time has come to do on our own what we do best - save lives! Every year millions of homeless adoptable pets are surrendered to kill shelters across the country. The majority of those animals are put to death due to overcrowding of these shelters. This overcrowding is caused by people purchasing animals from pet stores or breeders and by not spaying or neutering their pets. Every time a person buys a pet or allows their pet to breed, perfectly adoptable dogs and cats are killed in a shelter. It is a vicious cycle and can only be stopped with education, outreach and adoption. If everyone adopted their pets from shelters or rescue groups, there would be less euthanasia in our city pounds. When shelters are overcrowded we are called in to help. By us taking shelter pets into our rescue, we open up cages so the shelters have room for other animals that are coming in resulting is less animals being put to sleep. Puppy mills are mass breeding farms created for the sole purpose of profit. The dogs in puppy mills are considered 'product', not living breathing animals. 99% of pet stores across the country obtain their puppies from these mills. The parents of these pet store puppies suffer horribly living in cages until they no longer produce quality puppies. At that point they are killed in a horrific manor, unless we step in to help. We are able to take some of these breeding dogs into our rescue, rehabilitate them, treat them for any medical issues they may have, spay/neuter them and find them loving home. Most of these mill dogs do not know the true joys of being a dog as they have lived in cages their entire lives. We cannot act alone and we are always in dire need of donations, volunteers, foster homes and adopters. Without those things we would not be able to continue doing what we do!! Anarchy Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization and a proud member of Best Friends Animal Society!

We are a senior dog rescue. We focus on the elderly, sick and dying. We provide all the medical care to help the dogs get well and hopefully adopted. We also provide hospice care to terminally ill dogs abandoned by their families. Myself, along with the vet and the foster family collaborate on care, whether holistic/hospice or traditional medicinal care. When we have room and there are no seniors available to bring in to us we do take any age dog into the rescue.

Kneading Kitty's Rescue

We are a cat rescue in Maricopa County. Kneading Kitty's Rescue, saves cats in dire need from the puplic and from kill shelters. We are a non-profit, no kill rescue. All of our cats are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, tested for felv/fiv, and microchipped prior to adoption. We do this because there are not as many rescue's in Maricopa county that save cats. We are passionate about cats and will do what we can to help them and to educate the public on the importance of spaying and neutering.

We are a 501c3 organization specializing in exotic/domestic pet rescue. Our mission is to be a voice for the animals, to educate the public about animal responsibility, to ensure animals are treated humanely and given a chance, and to find adoptive homes for domestic animals. Animals are kept in foster homes until a permanent home can be found. We want to educate people on the specifics of exotic pet care to make sure these unusual pets are being cared for properly. We also want to promote spay/neuter in rabbits and mini-pigs, which has great medical and behavioral benefits and will help to end overpopulation of these species.
