Camp Papillon Adoption & Rescue Inc

128 Brainerd Lane
Stroudsburg
Pennsylvania

info-team@camppapillon.org(570) 801-6166
Camp Papillon is a non-profit, no-kill 501c3 animal rescue group dedicated to giving all homeless animals a place to call home. All of our animals are currently housed in foster homes, we don't have an actual location for housing the animals we rescue. These foster families are made up of dedicated volunteers who open their homes to dogs, cats, rabbits and other animals that are in need of a place to live until they can be adopted. This allows the fosters to evaluate the animals and determine how they interact with people, other dogs, cats, etc. so we can place them in their forever homes. In some cases, the animals are ready for adoption upon entering our rescue. Others need some training or have behavioral issues that need to be addressed before we put them up for adoption. Many shelters would have euthanized dogs that they deem unadoptable, but not us. The foster situation is the best way to be sure these animals are well socialized with people and, most times, with other animals. Camp Papillon covers ALL the costs associated with fostering our animals from vet care to food, toys, treats, etc. Our fosters just supply the love and affection to the animals they take in.

The Barking Lot

San Diego
California

info@thebarkinglot.net(619) 354-4825
The seed for The Barking Lot was planted a few years back when I took in my first foster dog, Patti Cake, in hopes of making a bigger impact by helping my favorite furry friends. Before I knew it, I was put on some rescue email list and received an email stating, "This dog to be put down on Tuesday at 3pm". I was utterly horrified and jumped into action figuring out how I could save her. Well, I did and I'm glad to report Raspberry (my nephew named her!) is living happily in Encinitas to this day! After getting her adopted, I thought, "That wasn't so tough." And so it goes...over 900 dogs adopted into loving home and 3 years later...we have The Barking Lot. As well as being wonderful companions, dogs are amazing teachers and we've learned so much from them...first and foremost that they all deserve a chance at a better life and their behavior will balance beautifully if their needs are meet and good leadership is applied. These pups will be the most grateful creatures you've encountered. We rescue our furry friends from area shelters, humane societies and Mexico as they are at risk of being euthanized and/or abandoned. We are a small organization with a handful of key volunteers and we are just getting started as a 501c3 non-profit, so we're looking for more volunteers to add to the fun and reward! We need both people and donations to help our furry friends, so we'd be grateful for either. Please contact Stacy

New Leash On Life Animal Rescue

After spending years watching the shelter system deteriorate, watching countless of beautiful pets die, a vision of what could be began to take shape. Initially it was a dream. Soon a blue print for implementation of this dream was in place. Finally a strategy for changes that would most significantly impact the inhumane conditions of these precious pets was arrived at. Then, in 1997, New Leash On Life Animal Rescue was born, thanks to Bobby & Kelly Dorafshar. Since its inception, New Leash On Life has been responsible for spaying and neutering thousands of pets, rescuing and placing over 3,000 dogs, providing free educational seminars at local shelters, setting shelter rescue priorities on “hard to place” animals requiring medical or special care, founding the P.E.T.’s program (Pet Educational Trainers) and co-founding Partners for Life which saved hundreds at the East Valley Animal Shelter. Finally in March of 2002, a lease was signed on thirteen acres in the Santa Clarita Valley for our E.R.A Center (Education, Rehabilitation and Adoption) which serves as a safe haven for many companion animals and a learning resource for children and adults facilitating New Leash On Life’s dream of making Los Angeles a no-kill city. We've recently developed our Lend a Paw program, rescuing dogs from the shelter and training them as assistance and therapy dogs for people and children in need. In addition to our Lend a Paw training program, we are implementing a training program for all of our rescues. It is our goal to put each dog rescued from the shelter through an obedience training course prior to being placed for adoption. A very select few may be chosen for Lend a Paw, while most will be adopted to loving families immediately. By training each dog, the adoptive family has a better chance of developing a better bond and a permanent relationship. In addition, our dogs get a lot of human attention from our training volunteers while they wait for their new home.
