Bunny Lu Adoptions Inc aka Bunny Lu Rabbit Rescue

Waynesboro
Virginia
22980
BunnyLuRabbitRescue@gmail.com(703) 753-0833
Founded in 1999 Bunny Lu is a 501 (c) 3 registered non profit rabbit rescue. We typically take in 150-200 buns a year and find them indoor homes where they will be loved and cared for the rest of their lives. At any time we have 50-60 rabbits at the rescue and in foster homes. We take rabbits in when local and sometimes not so local shelters are full or have rabbits with medical or behavioral issues. We prioritize taking in at risk rabbits from shelters but do also accept owner surrenders on a limited, case by case basis and accept rabbits that may not be in a shelter but are in a life threatening situation. We do this out of a love for rabbits and a passion for educating others about the joys of house rabbits as companions and caring for them properly.

Fosters & Paws

PO Box 189571
Sacramento
California
95818
sayhi@fostersandpaws.org
We started as Sacramento Front Street Animal Shelter Advocates, working with our local shelter by providing funding for capital improvements and a dental machine. As the things changed, so did the focus. We loved working with the shelter but it was our time to grow and find a new challenge! We decided a name change was in order and Fosters & Paws was born. Our name pays homage to our Fosters first, because without them, we wouldn’t be able to save lives. And then we got down to business . . . The first dog we pulled from the shelter was a mama that had just given birth to 5 beautiful puppies. The shelter environment is very loud and scary for a mama that is just trying to protect her babies. And with that, we found our purpose, our passion! We started working with local shelters to pull pregnant moms that had either been surrendered or dumped somewhere. We give the moms a safe environment to deliver their pups. Once the pups are weaned, we get moms and pups spayed/neutered and we find fantastic forever homes. Between 2019 and 2021, we have pulled a total of 60 moms and saved them from having to deliver their babies in the shelter environment AND we have found loving homes for all the moms and pups! While our passion is saving mamas, we also rescue other dogs in need, such as serious medicals, including amputations, and parvo puppies. We also keep an eye out for seniors and try to give them the best life for the time they have left. In total to date, we are proud to say we have saved well over 500 dogs and 1 kitten! We intend to continue to grow and hope to add many more family members to our pack! OUR MISSION We do rescue differently by doing the right thing for animals and people. OUR VISION To foster an environment where all animals are safe & loved. OUR VALUES The Golden Rule Lead by example Transparency Do the right thing Community advocate Treat 'em like friends Never leave a mom behind

Whiskers

P.O Box 171171
Salt Lake City
Utah
84117
info@whiskersutah.org(385) 429-0185
Whiskers is a 100% volunteer-run nonprofit cat rescue. We cater to animals in the municipal shelters in Davis, Weber, and Salt Lake counties. We take animals from surrounding areas as resources & space allows. In 2019, our volunteers collectively rescued over 200 felines and placed into permanent homes over 158, at-risk pets by year-end! Whiskers’ focus is on those most at risk in our shelters due to age, special needs, or medical cases. In 2020, amidst the pandemic Whiskers was still able to rescue over 132 animals. We found amazing homes for 113 special cat friends. For 2021 we rescued 128 animals and adopted out 118. Whiskers cater to seniors who are often overlooked due to age and needed vet care. Our focus is on quality over quantity, some of our cats need time to heal, receive multiple or lengthy medical treatments, the results are nothing short of incredible. We end up rescuing kittens each year; we call them future seniors! Often our kittens are saved from dire circumstances as well. Whiskers is rescuing those truly in need! Whiskers is a foster-based program, meaning we do not have a brick & mortar facility. We are always looking for foster homes! No one appreciates the love and comfort of a home the way a shelter animal does. Whiskers cats are available to adopt through appointment or one of our events at the Petco in Bountiful Or Farmington, Utah. We have cats available in the habitats at these locations; We are proudly a Petco partner! Together We Save Them! Mission Statement: Our goal is to minimize the euthanasia of high-risk pets in Utah. Three actions we focus on helping us achieve this goal are as follows. Rescuing high-risk pets from Utah shelter partners. We cater to seniors, medical cases, and special needs animals. Keeping pets in homes by providing education, resources and promoting spay & neuter programs. Providing veterinarian care to animals initially not considered “highly” adoptable and bringing them back to health for adoption. As a member of the Best Friends Animal Society™, NKUT™ (No-Kill Utah) coalition we are working hard to bring about an end to homeless pets in Utah. We invite you to explore our programs, get involved and help us save lives! We do what we do because this population of cats is extremely underserved, they need advocates, they need time to heal both physically and emotionally. We help them get heal, trust again and find a home that is truly the best fir for them as individuals.
