Pibbles & More Animal Rescue

New York

pibblesrus33@gmail.com
Pibbles & More Animal Rescue, Inc.is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, all volunteer, animal rescue organization based in New York - www.pmarinc.org To reduce pet overpopulation, particularly pit bulls, through spay/neuter intervention. Educating the public about responsible pet ownership through adoption as opposed to purchase. Pibbles & More Animal Rescue was started with the belief that no animal should die unwanted. After seeing the abundance of Pit bulls in shelters we decided to try to do something about it. In the beginning it was a small crew who banded together to form Pibbles & More Animal Rescue. We pull and re-home dogs from death row in the NY ACC shelters as well as from the Northeastern states where we have fosters, and from NC, SC and Georgia gassing shelters. We all have the hope that one day we will be a no kill nation. Until then, we rescue as many dogs as we can, get them medical treatment and put them into foster homes until permanent homes can be found. We take in healthy dogs, mange dogs ,heart-worm positive dogs and dogs who have been abused or have broken bones and open wounds. When we are done, only the scars remain, and the beautiful animals underneath shine through. The potential is there, for dogs to get a second chance at life, to know what love feels like. This is what we strive for every day. To find responsible loving owners for the bullies of the world.

Best Friend Pet Adoption

P.O. Box 5305
North Carolina
27512
adoption@bfpa.org
Best Friend Pet Adoption (BFPA) is a no-kill animal rescue organization based in central North Carolina. BFPA has no building, office, or shelter. We are an all-foster network committed to helping dogs and cats in need of homes. Individual donations are our most important source of income as we receive no public funding. Our purpose is to provide medical assistance, foster homes, and adoption services to previously lost, abandoned, abused, or neglected animals in Wake County, NC and the surrounding counties. Our mission is to educate this disposable society in which we live that every life should be valued and cherished and is directly linked to human responsibility and commitment. Almost all the animals we rescue require immediate medical attention. BFPA never turns away or euthanizes an animal because of the expense involved in returning them to good health. All our rescued animals are evaluated for temperament, examined by a veterinarian, vaccinated, microchipped (if possible) and sterilized, if age appropriate. Cats and dogs receive monthly flea/tick preventative and dogs also receive monthly heartworm preventative. The most important ingredients we provide to these animals are loving care and a safe haven -- something most of them have never experienced. These cats and dogs live in volunteer foster homes until we find them a loving permanent home, however long it takes. We match these precious beings to a single, couple or family who understand cats and dogs should be full participating members of the family. Our hope is that these animals never have to experience being unloved again. Since our beginning, BFPA has rescued and placed over 2,500 cats and dogs into their forever homes. BFPA was created in 1998 by two Raleigh-area women who had volunteered with other established rescues in the Triangle. Their dedication to help homeless dogs and cats has led to an organization that has grown to over 225 volunteers strong. BFPA received 501(c)(3) status in 1999.

The Perfect Dog

PO Box 361441
California
95036
theperfectdogrescue@gmail.com(510) 333-4420
The Perfect Dog, dedicated to rescuing wonderful homeless or abandoned dogs from over-crowded shelters, is an organization serving the southern Bay Area. The Perfect Dog places dogs in need into temporary foster homes, where they are socialized, trained, cleaned, and prepared for adoption. Ultimately, The Perfect Dog strives to greatly reduce the number of unwanted dogs euthanized in shelters simply due to over-crowding or being deemed unadoptable. The Perfect Dog rescues the “IMperfect” dogs who have simply been overlooked at the shelter or who have special medical or behavioral issues which puts them at risk of euthanasia, and finds them the perfect homes. We never discriminate. If there is a dog in need, it doesn’t matter its age, breed, condition, history, etc. If it needs help, we will do what it takes to find a way to help the dog. We believe in giving every dog a chance and we believe there is the right home for every dog out there.

Ambassador Pit Bull Rescue

21010 Southbank Street, #165
Sterling
Virginia
20165
contact@ambassadorpitbulls.org
Ambassador Pit Bull Rescue (APBR) is a local breed specific rescue/placement organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and responsible rehoming of neglected, surrendered or otherwise homeless Pit Bull dogs in the DC Metropolitan Area (Northern Virginia, Maryland, District of Columbia). Concurrently, APBR is dedicated to educating the public about responsible dog ownership regarding the proper care and training of Pit Bulls. APBR is an all-volunteer rescue organization with seasoned rescuers who have been rescuing and placing “Pit Bull type” dogs for many years. None of APBR’s officers, directors or rescuers receives any salary or compensation of any kind. Additionally, all administrative costs are kept to an absolute minimum, as every penny spent on administration is considered money taken away from the dogs. Private contributions are spent on the rescuing of Pit Bull dogs and include but are not limited to: shelter fees paid to obtain the dog, veterinary expenses for spaying/neutering, maintaining up-to-date vaccinations, various testing as needed for heartworm and other diseases, etc. Many of the Pit Bulls entering our program require additional medical treatment in order to treat infections, injuries, wounds or illnesses prior to being eligible for adoption. As adoption fees alone do not cover APBR’s actual costs incurred from these situations, APBR obtains substantial support from the general public. A small portion this income is set aside to invest into merchandise, which is sold as a fundraising activity. All of the activities of APBR will be governed by or conducted under the control and supervision of the officers and board of directors of APBR.
