Mastiff Rescue of Virginia

Pilot
Virginia

Mastiff Rescue of Virginia is a small volunteer-based organization whose mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome English Mastiffs (mixes) that are in need. Our volunteers are committed to providing Mastiff rescues with a renewed chance to live their best possible life. We work in conjunction with other rescue groups, shelters, and private owners who need a safe place to surrender. While we are Virginia based, we assist organization in nearby states whenever we can. Mastiffs accepted into our organization are vetted, medically assessed, altered (spayed/neutered), microchipped and placed in pre-approved foster homes until a suitable forever home is available.

To help control feral cat populations through public education and implementation of Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR). Burry Paws is a volunteer-based organization which relies on foster caregivers to provide loving, stable homes to homeless cats and kittens, helping them become the best possible pets for their future forever families. Paws of Love, Inc.

1507 Reid Rd
Mississippi
39654
pawsoflovems@gmail.com
Paws of Love, Inc. is a new, community-driven initiative that is working not only to restore faith in animal welfare in Lawrence County, but to provide a beacon of hope for abandoned and neglected animals. This group of volunteers is passionate about filling the void left in our community when we found ourselves without a local animal rescue group. At Paws of Love, Inc., our mission is to promote the humane treatment of animals through shelter, adoption, transport, education, and advocacy. Would you like to help us? Please adopt! The building that we are using to shelter the animals left to us is in need of extensive repairs and renovations that can best be done in an empty building. As such, our biggest need is to find good, forever homes for the dogs in our care. If you have room in your heart and your home, adoptions are our most fervent wish right now. Sadly, until necessary building repairs can be made, we cannot accept any additional animals. We are only staffed by volunteers right now, with irregular hours, but if you would like to meet our precious dogs, please let us know, and we will make arrangements to meet you. Please give! We started Paws of Love, Inc. from scratch, so your monetary donations will be greatly appreciated as we care for animals and plan and budget for building repairs. Deposits can be made in our bank account at any BankPlus branch, donations can be made using our PayPal link in the post below, and checks can be mailed to Paws of Love, inc. at P.O. Box 416 Monticello, MS 39654. Paws of Love, Inc. was granted nonprofit recognition under the U.S. Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3), effective August 1, 2023. Your gifts are both appreciated, and tax deductible. Would you like to join us? Please join our membership! Connect with like-minded individuals who share your passion for making a difference for animals. Participate in volunteer opportunities, community outreach programs, and events that help create a more compassionate society for animals. Please message us to receive a membership application. Our board of directors is made up of the following volunteers: Kim Brister, president; Jeremy Robbins, vice president; Kristen Williamson, treasurer; Dana Watts, secretary; Brittany Mullins, and Heather Calhoun-Kearney. At Paws of Love, Inc., our mission is clear and our operations are transparent. Please stand with us to ensure that every animal receives the care and attention they deserve.

Blue Barn Farm and Sanctuary Inc.

North Salem
New York

We are a husband and wife team that have devoted our lives to animals. I am a veterinary technician and have been doing rescue and fostering since I was 16. We live on a farm in North Salem and have been rescuing animals for years as part of our farm sanctuary and recently decided to make it official so we can expand and help more animals and adopt out animals to the right home if applicable. We have horses, Goats, Sheep, Chickens, Ducks, Cats, Dogs, Guinea Pigs and a gecko. While we have been taking in rescues for years, we began this venture with our first sad, neglected guinea pig, Nibbles- his story was the same as most--kid wants guinea pig, promises to take care of it, parents get guinea pig, kid loses interest, parents don't want to take care of it, guinea pig sits alone and neglected in a dirty cage until they finally decide to give it away. We adopted a friend for him, but as un neutered males, they did not get along and instead lived in a duplex so they didn't have to share. My daughter loved her Guinea Pigs so much, she got a female at her father's house. I knew it wouldn't be long before we would end up taking her. Now we had 3 Guinea Pigs that could not be housed together and our house began to look like a pet store and the piggies looked like they were in prison. We ended up building a Coop outside for them with an edible garden, had the boys neutered and put them all together and it was so heartwarming to see how happy they were! As soon as I mentioned what we were doing to a few people, we took in 6 Guinea Pigs within a week. It was then that we realized what a need there is for a guinea pig rescue, as they are so often forgotten and are purchased and discarded like barbie dolls. We also have been taking chickens and ducks and are putting in a quarantine barn for larger barnyard animals. So there it began... we Primarily take critical care, special needs, senior and pregnant animals as I am a retired technician and have the experience to care for them that many other rescues do not. Those animals that are unadoptable have a forever home in our sanctuary, and those that are adoptable stay until we find the absolute perfect home for them. We are currently up to 16 Sanctuary Guinea Pigs and 14 ICU Guinea Pigs, and have taken in 14 ducklings, a rooster and a cat with premature kittens that she rejected since we began our venture (aside from the 53 animals we rescued prior to becoming incorporated). I just need a better way to keep track of everyone and I have tried a couple of different software programs and am not happy with them.

Our mission is to rescue animals from unfortunate situations and empower members of the community to foster animals until the pet is ready for placement in their forever home. We work with a few foster homes who take in animals that are neglected, abused and in desperate need of help. We will also work with families who have chosen to rehome their pet if they are willing to foster until the best home is found. We are all volunteers who believe that no matter how small a group, you can always make a difference.
