The Texarkana Animal League has been in existence serving the pet population of Texarkana since the 1940’s in various capacities. We have been animal advocates, contracted with both of our twin cities for the running of the daily operations of the shelter, and our latest adventure returns back to our roots as advocates. As of December 2008, our organization no longer held the contract to run the local animal shelter, and with that change in direction, we have been able to approach the animal community in a completely different direction. Although operations have changed our mission has not. The Texarkana Animal League exists to provide protection and care for abandoned, abused, neglected and unwanted companion animals. We also want to promote animal welfare through programs and services that mutually benefit animals and people. We have been able to use our annual fundraiser, the “Tails of Two Cities” Day Planner to start three community-based programs. One helps low income households spay and neuter their pets and another helps current rescuers with medical costs of special needs animals. Finally, we established a foster care program to pull needy animals from the community, as well as the shelter, which will provide the extra medical attention and socialization needed in order for the animal to become adoptable. low income, Spay/Neuter Assistance Program. Along with altering the companion animal, we have included a wellness check, vaccines, and a heartworm test. This program is provided to Bowie, Cass, Little River and Miller county residents for the low cost of $50 for dogs and $35 for cats. TAL covers all expenses for this program. Prices have been negotiated for the different procedures, but the cost remains the same to the public. All of our adoptable animals are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, and on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. These items will take an animal from no or nominal care to complete care and will make them highly adoptable. We have teamed up with Petfinder.com and PetSmart Charities to promote our adoptable animals.

Labradors and Friends Dog Rescue Group, Inc. is an animal rescue group dedicated to rescuing labrador retrievers and labrador mixed breed dogs in Southern California and placing them in loving homes.

Rescue, rehabilitate and re-home

The primary purpose of Southern California Keeshond Rescue, Inc. is to rescue homeless Keeshond dogs, provide the dogs with safe, temporary foster care, and find new permanent homes for them with responsible, qualified owners. In addition, the organization educates the public regarding responsible dog ownership and the humane care of dogs.

Good Dog Rescue is a an all-breed rescue group headquartered in Enfield CT. Our group is comprised of volunteers all over Eastern United States who love dogs and want to help those that end up homeless through no fault of their own. Loyal and loving dogs turn up every day in Southern shelters, as owners turn them in or they’re found roaming the streets after being dumped. To the best of our abilities, we evaluate all of our Good Dogs’ temperament and suitability for living with other dogs, cats, and children. A dog’s health is checked, and we make sure they are up-to-date on all shots and are spayed or neutered. Then, we place them in loving foster homes until they find their very own family. Our goal is to meet the needs of each dog as an individual and to assure proper placement in a loving forever home. What We Do... Good Dog is dedicated to animal rescue. In addition to our primary goal of helping homeless and abandoned dogs, we - donate money to low-cost spay/neuter clinics in the south to help solve the problem of pet overpopulation; - engage in community outreach activities with local schools to help educate children and young adults about animal rescue and responsible pet ownership; - team with non-profit organizations that train rescued dogs to assist disabled people. More than a dozen of our Good Dogs have become certified service dogs, helping disabled people lead more independent lives. We are proud of the work we do with our good dogs and in our local communities. South to North Connection Every month, dozens of our Southern Good Dogs ride the transport north to their new forever and foster homes. The USDA-licensed transport drives up every week to meet new forever and foster families at various locations along the Tennessee-New England route. Our Southern adoptions are long-distance and the dogs are taken directly home from the transport . We facilitate long-distance adoptions by the transfer of pictures and information about the dog, and we arrange to have the adopter speak to the dog's foster parents. When a dog is in a New England foster home, we are more than happy to arrange a pre-adoption meeting!

We are a small non-profit organization devoted to rescueing and rehoming schnauzers. We make every attempt to find them a permanent home so they will never be displaced again. We also work with other Rescue groups and Shelters to insure that animals are not euthanized due to limited space.

Both of us are retired and love dogs, we give sanctuary to dogs that may never be adopted as well as finding a home for others.

We are a small no-kill beagle rescue located in the heart of Pittsburgh, PA. All of our dogs are last-minute rescues saved from certain and imminent death in high-kill pounds. Every dog we take in is immediately spayed or neutered, given all necessary vaccinations, tested/treated for heartworm and other parasites and cared for in a loving foster home until an approved forever home is found. While we are a beagle rescue we will take in other breeds and mixes as we are able. Everything we do is done because we love dogs and believe that every single one of their lives has meaning, value and purpose and that dogs should never be treated as if they are disposable.
