Good Karma Rescue Inc.

Vermont
05602
goodkarmarescue@gmail.com
Good Karma Rescue Inc. is a private charitable non-profit 501(c)3 organization. Good Karma Rescue is a small group of volunteers that love animals. Our mission is to rescue, provide refuge, and ultimately to find permanent loving homes for abandoned, stray and neglected animals where they will receive a lifetime commitment of loving care, including appropriate gentle training, exercise, and regular veterinary care. Whenever possible we also assist dogs who, because of extenuating circumstances, are unable to remain in their homes with their guardians. We are located in Central Vermont, and work with local and national organizations to help prevent needless euthanasia, and companion animal overpopulation. Good Karma rescue supports early age spay/neuter as the most practical and humane way to prevent companion animal overpopulation and needless euthanasia. All dogs and puppies adopted from Good Karma rescue prior to going to their forever home are spayed or neutered. Our organization acknowledges the serious problem of overpopulation of companion animals in this country, and works to prevent unwanted litters. All Good Karma are housed in foster homes where they are provided with attention and all are seen by a veterinarian to insure, as much as is possible, that they are in good health before adoption. All companion animals are spayed or neutered, brought up-to-date on shots, and screened for parasites before being placed in their new homes. When time permits, our dogs are also housetrained and taught basic obedience. All Good Karma animals are evaluated for temperament, and personality. This helps us to place them in homes that are well suited to their needs and to the needs of their future guardians. If you are looking for a specific type of dog and do not see it on our website, please email us. We work closely with other rescue groups and animal shelters and may be able to assist you in finding your next furry friend.

HEAVENLY PAWS ANIMAL SHELTER, INC is a Pennsylvania non-profit corporation organized under Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The mission of Heavenly Paws Animal Shelter is to provide housing, care, and treatment for sick, injured, abused, homeless, and handicapped domestic animals. The shelter will remain a no kill facility. As long as space is available, no domestic animal shall be turned away. Spay and neutering services are required to help decrease the spread of deadly diseases and help control the unwanted animal population. The shelter is also working with local municipalities to control the escalating stray cat population in York County. We strive to strengthen the human-animal relationship through education and a referral service. We speak at numerous organizations and clubs throughout the county to spread awareness.

Partners For Pets

PO Box 445
Troy
Illinois

partners4petsadoptions@yahoo.com(618) 540-7387
Partners For Pets volunteers frequently visit high kill animal control facilities and pull dogs and cats who are scheduled for euthanasia. We focus primarily on frail, sick, elderly, injured and sick animals that have little to no chance of adoption through one of these facilities. We are a group of very dedicated volunteers with a small shelter and only 5 paid part time employees. Our adoption numbers far exceed the larger rescue groups in our area and we do over 1000 adoptions per year with a very low return rate.

Happy Hearts, Inc.

South Carolina
29360
HappyHeartsSC@gmail.com(864) 933-0850
The founder has been doing rescue privately for over 15 years. This county has no shelters. Animal control can hold a few animals for a short period of time and most are euthanized. There is another organization that provides spay neuter certificates. There is just such an overwhelming need here that our founder decided to incorporate and try to help more animals than she could on her own.

Homeward Bound Dog Rescue

Texas

HWBDogRescue@aol.com
We are a group of private foster homes dedicating to saving and finding forever homes for as many dogs as we can. We primarily pull from the local kill shelters, and we also rescue abandoned dogs. We fully vet and assess the temperaments of our fosters and then try to find them the best forever homes possible. We do it because we love them and because we hope our efforts encourage others to do the same. We also participate in local rescue advocacy groups and work in public education efforts to promote spay / neuter and responsible pet ownership.

I have been rescuing and adopting out retired racers for about 17 years. My passion for them started when I adopted a retired racer from my local SPCA. It was love at first sight and I have been devoted to them ever since.
