K9Kastle Corp.

New York
New York
10003
K9Kastle@aol.com(212) 673-2895
We are an IRC 501 (c)3 public charity, whose mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome companion animals whose welfare is otherwise at risk. We "specialize" in what some people call "special needs," while we consider the pets simply special--cats with only 3 legs, cats with a neurological condition that affects balance and coordination, dogs to be euthanized because of a remediable condition (broken leg, for instance), cats with contagious conditions who simply need treatment, etc. We rescue primarily from the NYCACC, the NYC shelter system, which has an obligation to receive every animal that crosses its threshold, and thus is overwhelmed with strays, owner surrenders, cruelty and eviction seizures, and more. We treat all treatable conditions, and find homes. We are all volunteers--no one is compensated for her or his time or efforts or skill--and we do it because of a profound love and respect for the animals.

Waccamaw Animal Rescue Mission

gailmfishman@hotmail.com(843) 347-6583
WARM is a no-kill, non-profit 501(c)(3)rescue organization based in Conway, SC. We rescue stray, abandoned and abused animals and try to place them with new guardians. Animals are spayed/neutered, heartworm tested, vaccinated and have all preventatives before being placed in their new home. WARM rescues not only cats and dots, but also wildlife and farm animals. WARM houses between 300-400 animals year round. If animals are not placed in new homes, they live out their lives at the WARM farm - no animal is ever euthanized unless it is sick and cannot be cured and is no longer happy being alive. Farm animals are adopted out to small farms and wildlife is returned to the wild once rehabilitated - away from human habitation and hunting areas.

Southwest Airedale Terrier Rescue

Arizona
48430
swat.rescue@gmail.com
SWAT is a non-profit all-volunteer network of Airedale people who find homes for purebred Airedale Terriers that have been lost, abandoned or surrendered. The Airedale Rescue volunteers in the western states are few and far between -- just a handful of people covering a huge territory. Many of the volunteers have been rescuing Airedales for years with very little assistance. In 2003, we started this website as a way to coordinate communication and cooperation to help homeless Airedales in the southwestern states. SouthWest Airedale Terrier (SWAT) Rescue is not an organization or corporation. We are an informal association of independent rescue volunteers. Each volunteer is responsible for the rescued Airedales in their care. Each of us operates in a slightly different fashion, but we all have one thing in common: we are dedicated to finding the perfect home for each individual Airedale in our care. SWAT volunteers include Airedale pet owners & breeders who believe we have a responsibility not only for our own dogs and the dogs we produce, but for the Airedale breed as a whole. The SWAT volunteers have full-time jobs, families, and animals of their own and many work more hours doing rescue work than they do at their full-time jobs. While SWAT volunteers make every effort to return phone calls/emails promptly, this may not always happen. Please, be patient with us. Emergency calls about the safety of Airedales take priority. Each volunteer of the Southwest Airedale Terrier Rescue network has the following goals: To rescue any purebred Airedale in our area without a responsible owner or breeder. Before placement, each rescued Airedale Terrier will be: spayed or neutered permanently identified with a microchip checked for heartworm, parasites and other health issues brought up to date on vaccinations required by law and appropriate to the age and health of the Airedale, carefully evaluated for temperament & personality in order to be matched with an appropriate home bathed and groomed Place each rescued Airedale Terriers into the loving forever home best suited to the needs of that particular Airedale. Educate the public regarding the Airedale breed and responsible dog ownership. No SWAT volunteer conducts rescue activities for personal profit. All profits from fundraising activities, fees and donations will be used only for the benefit of rescued Airedales.

Ozark Haven Rescue, LLC a Not for Profit Organization

PO Box 383
Missouri
65689
Ozarkhavenrescue@yahoo.com
Ozark Haven is a 5013c recognized, Limited Liability Corporation, MO State Lisc. Animal Rescue. We have our paws in many projects for Southern Missouri Dogs. In addition to our Foster Care Program for homeless dogs to seek adoption into forever homes, our sister site www.petfinder.com/shelters/MO207.html is our Safety Forum. This site features dogs in our communities. These dogs are not in foster care but remain in their original situation. Ozark Haven is part of a huge network and often the dogs in the Safety Forum are seen by other rescues and find safety. In our continued work with CARE, a Not for Profit Homeless Dog Transport we can offer SO MO dogs a chance to reach populations where they arent as common and have better adoption potential. Dogs that live rurally in the forest communities of Southern Missouri dont have municipalities or other agencies to help them. They often burden the hillsides and face horrible violent fates. Our Safety Forum provides those dogs fair and equal web exposure to find safe screened options for life!! Our Dominicks Honor program addresses the deadly practice of tethering. People will tie anything around a dogs neck. Our local rural administrations are not concerned with the deadly act of tethering. As a charity we cannot lobby but we sure can offer light weight harnesses and cables to improve the life of dogs that are tethered. While sharing the gift of painless tethering, we always offer our Safety Forum services in hopes of moving these dogs to a home with appropriate care practices. Our Littering the Ozarks Program has been a successful one, we plan to build on this in the New Year. We will offer screened placement of unwanted litters in the community if the owners of the mother will consent to allow us to spay her. This program has been well received in our communities and is a targeted program for growth in 08. And finally, our Feral Dog Project MO. Feral dogs are a symptom of "dumping". Abandonment plaques our communities. With limited options for unwanted pets, dumping on a country road is common place. The survivors of these dumpings often find disease, starvation, conficts with wildlife and violent deaths are their only reward. The strongest survivors may be a natural enemy to fielded livestock, chickens or local small game such as rabbits and squirrels, at which time they become hunted themselves. They threat our farmers and burden our food chain. Feral Dog Project MO supports the use of humane trapping, rehabbing and placement of these dogs. In the future we hope to build a compound for feral dogs that will not make human companions. Here they could continue to live "wild" but with safety and care. These would be the exception as many is the time these lost terrified souls make wonderful pets!!
