Back In Black Dog Rescue, Inc.

246 Clarks Valley Road
Tower City
Pennsylvania
17980
backinblackresq@yahoo.com
BIBDR is a licensed, non-profit black dog rescue. We not only take in homeless, abandoned, unwanted black dogs, but we spread the importance of spay/neuter, vaccinating, and routine vet visits. We are also spreading the awareness of black dog syndrome that is in the south, and educating the north on how supressed the south truly is with the percentage of euthanasia that takes place every day due to a broken shelter system.

Compassion Without Borders

Compassion without Borders brings brighter futures to animals in need on both sides of the border. We focus our efforts where the need is the greatest, but where animals are the very least likely to be helped due to financial, geographic, and cultural barriers.4 Our programs include a dog rescue program from Mexico and the Central Valley, along with free veterinary wellness and spay/neuter clinics in underserved communities on both sides of the border. We also have a humane euthanasia program in Mexico, where we are actively working to stop electrocution, a common method of killing unwanted animals south of the border.

We aim to fill the gap left by budget shortfalls within organizations and the city. When animal control or Parks & Wildlife says "we don't do that." We do. We often rescue ducklings from storm drains, cats stuck in trees, etc. while also saving animals from euthanasia and finding them new homes.

Key to Lion's Heart Rescue

P.O. Box 5570
Maryland
20855
info@keytolionsheart.org
I am the founder/president of Key to Lion's Heart Rescue. I rescue because I have a passion for animals and want to help the homeless dogs as well as educate the community. This is my mission statement for my rescue: Key to Lion’s Heart Rescue’s mission is to help save lives of animals that are in shelters or abusive and neglectful situations and give them a chance in life as well as educate the community on animal welfare. We are a foster and volunteer based rescue and rely solely on donations and fundraising to care for our dogs. Through our foster program we provide a loving, nurturing and safe environment for all our animals and address all their needs. We provide all our animals while in our care with vaccines, micro-chips, heartworm test and alter when age appropriate. We provide rehabilitation and training to those in need and work with all our dogs to prepare them for adoption into responsible and loving homes. Through our outreach program we aim to educate the community and our youth about the importance of animal welfare, proper nutrition and the importance of spay/neuter. We will work with the youth by going into the schools and inviting students to participate in our community fundraisers and events. We want them to be a part of the mission to end cruelty and the over population of animals in the shelters. It is our youth that will help change the future of animal welfare.

We have been an organization for over 30 years now. We just recently built a new shelter in May of 2016. We were in a run down building that had cracks, holes, mice and bugs. We have come far from that and have a much better facility to house the animals in a safe and comfortable environment. We are here to save more lives and to educate the community on animal welfare and animal care.

Maricopa County Animal Care and Control

2500 s. 27th Ave
Phoenix
Arizona
85009
generalemail2@mail.maricopa.gov(602) 506-7387
We are a large, municipal shelter that serves Maricopa county, including Phoenix, AZ. In the past year, we have worked hard to save the lives of all animals that come through our door unless they are extremely sick or aggressive to the point they are a danger to the public. Much of our success has come through social media and our online networking. We take in around 33,000 animals a year between our 2 shelters. We have a 94% live release rate, however we need to be able to work to get our most at-risk population out of the shelter in a shorter period of time. Presently, we have dogs that stay over 3 months, at which point they start to deteriorate due to the stressful environment and lack of exercise and enrichment. We accept all strays (severely injured go to AZ Humane Society) and owner surrenders (managed admissions of 10/day with no stipulations). We are working hard on all fronts to save lives and we feel that being allowed to network using your data base would do even more to help us save lives.
