Rescued Tails Animal Sanctuary

Shell Lake
Wisconsin
54871
woofda@centurytel.net(715) 468-7784
Rescued Tails rescues animals from local animal control facilities as well as high-kill shelters. We tend to specialize in animals that get overlooked due to their age, breed, and/or temperament. Some of our animals live in foster homes and our long-term residents live at our small sanctuary. We believe that each individual life is valuable and will do what is necessary to ensure a successful outcome for every animal.

I've been involved in basset hound rescue since 2004. I fell in love with the breed after rescuing one from the shelter. Since 20O06 I've been extremely involved with two basset rescues. The area up here can definitely support more than one rescue.

Leon County Humane Society

413 Timberlane Road
Tallahassee
Florida
32312
(850) 224-9193
Our Mission To relieve animal suffering To prevent animal cruelty To eliminate overpopulation of animals To promote humane education To enhance the human/animal bond The Leon County Humane Society is Tallahassee's largest no kill, non-profit animal welfare organization dedicated to saving Tallahassee's homeless pets by educating our community about responsible pet ownership and reducing pet overpopulation through programs like Spay/Neuter, Rescue Ride, and Friends Fur Life. Because we are a no-kill organization, we are also a “limited intake” shelter. The Leon County Humane Society works closely with other animal welfare agencies in the community and transfers animals in from other shelters that euthanize for space, including the Tallahassee Leon Community Animal Services Center (City Shelter). We do not take animals in from the public. Once an animal is accepted in our foster and adoption program they are not euthanized for space reasons. Unless there are medical or behavioral issues that develop, deeming an animal un-adoptable, a cat or dog will stay in our adoption program until they find their forever home. Tallahassee is an APSCA Partnership Community, and LCHS is thrilled to be one of the organizations included in this innovative program. Over the next 3-5 years, the Partnership organizations and ASPCA will be working together to reduce the homeless pet population in Tallahassee and provide much needed resources for the pets in our area

Town of Southampton Animal Shelter

102 Old Riverhead Road
New York
11946
adoptions@sasfinc.org(631) 728-7387
The Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation (SASF), a not-for-profit organization, was founded in 2009 to care for the homeless animals at the Southampton Town Animal Shelter, a municipal operation that was stricken from the Town’s budget. Since then, SASF has provided the funding to rescue, feed and enrich the lives of the animals at the shelter—primarily dogs and cats—and has made great strides in finding loving homes for them. In addition to adoption services, SASF offers a low-cost spay/neuter clinic to help combat pet overpopulation, a nationwide problem that can only be fixed locally and humanely. All Pit Bulls are neutered FREE of charge. The clinic is operated by our fully trained medical staff, which includes a veterinarian and two technicians. The professionals in SASF’s Training and Behavior Department evaluate each shelter dog and develop individually tailored training plans, depending on the dog’s disposition and needs. We also have a program for dogs with special needs, including shy and deaf dogs. A well-trained dog with a positive behavior is one that will adjust well into a new adoptive family! Our popular dog obedience classes, available to the public, provide an opportunity to foster a stronger bond between you and your pooch, to have fun, and to avoid turning your dog in to a shelter due to a lack of training. SASF is a young, 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. We rely solely on the generosity of individuals and businesses to save lives, keep food in the dog and cat bowls at the adoption center and provide much-needed programs that benefit the two- and four-legged members of our community. We are grateful for every donation, regardless of size. To volunteer, make a donation or learn more about SASF, please contact us at 631-728-7387 or info@sasfinc.org
