We were started two years ago to try to decrease the cat overpopulation problem in our largely rural area of Plain City, Ohio. We do trap-neuter-return (TNR) of feral and stray cats. We also help low income people get their cats spayed/neutered. Out of these efforts, we always find cats/kittens that are friendly and so we do adopt out these animals. We have cage space at PetSmart, which does help us find a great many homes. Our area consists of a great number of farms and low income people who do not get their cats fixed. It is a huge problem that we are working to solve.

Ultimately, what we do is CARE. Cats at the Studios, Inc. is a non-profit rescue organization comprised entirely of volunteers. We are dedicated to nurturing, neutering/spaying & finding homes for abandoned cats & kittens. The shelters are overflowing with unwanted pets that are euthanized. Many of our cats are rescued on their last days at the shelter. Sometimes people find stray or injured cats & contact us to help. Every cat that comes into our care is welcomed with open arms. Our kitties are fostered in private homes by volunteers. They eat premium quality food, get excellent veterinary care & receive lots of love! Un-weaned kittens are bottle-fed around the clock & foster parents encounter many challenges until the babies are past the danger zone. In an effort to curb the rapidly increasing number of newborns left to the streets, our rescued kittens are neutered & spayed before being placed in their forever homes. Cats at the Studios is able to apply all of its limited financial resources directly towards the care of rescued kittens & cats. Nevertheless, because of the ongoing expense of vaccinations, neutering/spaying & additional medical care, we are in need of donations at all times. One of the fastest ways to help is to make a tax deductible donation online by using the PayPal secure server to CatsAtTheStudios@yahoo.com. Our kitties thank you!

SAFARI - Stray and Feral Animal Rescue Initiative

We are a small volunteer only organization. We work entirely out of our homes. DeKalb has a terrible feral cat problem and our organization was founded to help the plight of these cats. We trap, spay/neuter, vaccinate, worm, test for FIV and feline leukemia. All cats are recovered after surgery prior to release. Unless the cat's habitat is threatened or the colony itself is in danger, we do not relocate. The colonies are fed and managed for veterinary care.

catlady199@yahoo.com(828) 678-1336
The purpose of the Rutherford County Humane Society is to strengthen and protect the relationship between humans and companion animals and to foster the welfare of the dog and cat population of Rutherford County. Our number one goal is to promote and assist in spay/neuter to prevent the births and subsequent euthanasia of hundreds of unwanted animals. We also aim to prevent cruelty and abuse by active Humane Education. The Rutherford County Humane Society was founded and obtained tax-exempt,501(C)(3) status in 1976, with the present chapter operating since 1993. We are licensed by the North Carolina Department of Agriculture to operate a small adoption center that can house only cats. Presently there are 22 active volunteers and 98 supporting members in our group. We have a seven member Board of Directors who serve for three-year periods and a slate of officers who are elected on a yearly basis.
