The cat (Felis catus) is a small, carnivorous mammal known for its agility, sharp senses, and playful behavior. Domesticated for thousands of years, cats are popular pets worldwide, valued for companionship and their ability to hunt pests. They have soft fur, retractable claws, and communicate through vocalizations, body language, and purring. Cats are independent yet affectionate, adapting well to various environments and forming strong bonds with humans.

Feline Rescue, Inc. is a Minnesota based no-kill companion cat rescue organization. Our founders established Feline Rescue in 1997 in Minneapolis, MN as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We are an all volunteer organization, with no paid staff. We are funded exclusively through donations and grants. We receive no municipal, state, or federal funding. We provide rescue and relief to the homeless and endangered cats in our community through programs that offer shelter, foster, social and medical rehabilitation, feral and stray management, spay/neuter subsidy, and community education. Our mission is to provide safe shelter, veterinary care, and socialization for stray, abandoned, or abused cats until good permanent homes can be found for them. Our mission does not enable us to accept owner surrendered animals.
