Species
The degu is a small, social rodent native to Chile. It has a brownish fur, a long tail with a tuft at the end, and large, expressive eyes. Degus are diurnal, active during the day, and live in groups in the wild. They are known for their intelligence, curiosity, and ability to communicate with a variety of vocalizations. Degus require a high-fiber diet and plenty of space to exercise, making them popular but demanding pets.
