Matty's story: I started to see Matty's picture posted on the MG Impound Dogs page in late October of 2012. Matty and his "mate", Athena, were in jail for bite quarantine. They were playing and a lady got scratched by either a tooth or a claw, and they could not determine by which dog. The owners knew Athena and Fatty (Matty's actual name from owner, Cheryl changed it because he was no Fatty) were there, but they didn't have the funds to pay for fees and vetting. Athena was rescued. From the time I saw Matty's picture, the one where he is sitting on Cheryl's shoes, I knew I needed him. I asked numerous big and small rescues if they would please pull Matty for me. Their answers were all the same, we have a blue Pit Bull you can adopt. No, it had to be Matty! Matty's time was coming near and they scheduled a euthanasia date. I was in tears daily. Finally, though, last minute, the day before he was to be killed, Amber from One of a Kind Pet Rescue said she would pull him for me! I was ecstatic! I picked Matty up from the impound on January 2nd, 2013. He wasn't perfect, but he was perfect for me...and he didn't become a statistic....he is truly my heart & soul. He brought Cheyenne and I out of a deep depression over losing Teddy, my Chow Chow, to Lymphoma. Matty started my learning journey into rescue. I havent been in very long. I have held many roles ( vetting, intake, foster, events and fundraising coordinator to just name a few) in the rescues I have been in, and I have fostered about 100 puppies. I was blinded, ignorant of all that was happening prior to Matty. My blinders were lifted, Matty and I, with some friends would like to make a bigger impact. Best Friends in Houston works collaboratively with city shelters, local animal welfare organizations and passionate individuals to save the lives of pets in shelters in Houston and the surrounding areas. To guide this work and help Houston become a no-kill city for cats and dogs, Best Friends launched the Coalition to Save Houston’s Pets in April of 2018.

The mission of Detroit Animal Care and Control is to promote and protect the health, safety and welfare of the residents and visitors of the City of Detroit from animal bites, zoonotic disease, or traffic hazards; to maintain the highest standards of humane animal sheltering; to promote the placement of animals into homes; and to encourage responsible pet ownership through education, enforcement, and community partnership.

We are an all volunteer group who's mission is to reduce the numbers of animals euthanized in our area shelters through aggressive adoption and spay/neuter programs. We partner with area shelters, to concentrate on the cats and dogs that have run out of time or have special needs. We move them to a safe haven with private citizens, strive to provide them with any veterinary care they need, and then we find them loving homes. Since 2004, over 11,000 of these previously unwanted animals found their forever homes through our safety net. When one of ours gets adopted, we go and get another.

We are German Shepherd Dog owners who run an all volunteer 501c3 rescue aiming to make a difference in the lives of at risk shepherds in our communities. Our management teams individual range of rescue management experience ranges from 10 to 7 years. We formed a new organization to leverage new approaches and tools to rescuing dogs, our former organization's size and make up made it difficult to embrace developing trends and leverage resources.

Saved by Grace animal rescue is a small, foster-based organization that rescues, rehabs and re-homes the communities abused, neglected and homeless dogs. We advocate & educate on the importance of spay and neuter to control the over population of pets. We also assist in providing vet care for people in need and promote responsible pet ownership. There is no case too bog or too small for our team

Our mission is to rescue medium to large breed dogs and puppies from high kill shelters and unsafe conditions. We give each animal proper vet care, vaccinations, rehabilitation, microchip and basic training to secure their future in a furever home.

Fierce Love Rescue is excited to bring a new twist to animal rescue in northern virginia. Not only do we rescue we educate. FLR is excited to help exotic pets, not just cats and dogs, find their forever homes. We offer training and education on some amazing breeds and species. Our selection of amazing animal ambassadors are available for public education sessions for all ages. FLR is fiercely devoted to adopting and rescuing all species of animals, as well as promoting animal welfare, advocacy, conservation, and education. We rescue all animals with fierce love and dedication.

We are a small rescue that is foster based. We strive to save hounds primarily as well as cats but will take whatever the foster will take.
