The dog is a domesticated mammal known for its loyalty, intelligence, and companionship. Descended from wolves, dogs come in a wide variety of breeds, sizes, and temperaments. They are social animals, often kept as pets, working animals, or service animals. Dogs communicate through barking, body language, and facial expressions. Their keen senses, especially smell and hearing, make them valuable in roles such as hunting, herding, guarding, and assisting people with disabilities.

Pets Return Home

PO Box 2769
Arizona

Our Maxim: Saving Lives and Building Families Pets Return Home (PRH) provides life-saving support for dogs. Our four operations support one goal: eliminating unnecessary euthanasia. Annually, 27 million pets are separated from their families unexpectedly. Five million of these animals never return to their owners, resulting in $6 billion in lost pet recovery expenses each year. Our Animal Search and Rescue Team program reduces the lost pet problem and the broken hearts of over 70 million Americans each year. Daily, thousands of dogs, including pregnant dogs, die in animal control facilities due to incorrect behavior assessments or lack of access to behavior modification training. Our Board & Train program provides a lifesaving and family-building alternative to this problem. Many pets are euthanized instead of receiving expensive medical treatment or long-term recovery care. Our Convalescence Care program enables families to afford and provide the care for their loved pets. Thousands of pets die each year because of family inexperience, neglect or abuse. Our Training programs provide the necessary training, which enables the family to provide a safe environment for their dog. Volunteering with us increases awareness, educates everyone within the volunteer’s sphere of influence, provides care for the animals and reduces costs.

We are Swamp Haven and this is our story. Swamp Haven is an animal rescue organization that takes down-on-their-luck dogs and nurtures them back to a healthy mental and physical state, so they can find their forever home. Our goal is simple. We save innocent dogs that have been overlooked by society and provide short-term care including vetting (vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip and heartworm and flea prevention) and training to learn how to walk politely on a leash, play in a pack and live calmly and lovingly in their new home. It all started a few years back when we made the move from the Pacific Northwest to North Florida. We were surprised to learn how many dogs lose their lives in shelters each month around this area and felt compelled to do something. In the beginning of 2015, we founded Swamp Haven, a 501c3 nonprofit dog rescue organization that survives entirely on donations. Feel free to noodle around our site and learn more about our organization including ways to donate, how you can foster a dog and our adoption process.

I am the director and we bring dogs in that are found on the streets, owner surrenders, from shelters, we vet them and make sure they are fully vetted. We adopt to home owners for pit bulls only and if we have other dogs not pit bull we adopt them to those who are renters. The goal of home owners is less returns. We are huge on safety and do education . We want to part of the solution and not the problem and cut down on dogs going to the shelters. We feel they best in the home environment

Grand Strand Golden Retriever Rescue, Inc.

Grand Strand Golden Retriever Rescue (GSGRR) is a group of volunteers located in the Myrtle Beach area of South Carolina dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and placement of Golden Retrievers into the best homes possible to ensure their loving care for as long as they live. Our volunteers have been rescuing Goldens for more than 20 years and are truly in love with this wonderfully goofy breed! As soon as a Golden comes into our program, it is taken to the vet for a physical examination and all of its medical needs are met. The Golden is then placed in a warm and loving foster home, where it will remain until a permanent home is found. During this time the foster family is able to assess the Golden's personality, which is necessary in determining the perfect "furever" match for both dog and family. Before adoption, the Golden will be vaccinated, altered, tested and treated for heartworms and microchipped. Anyone wishing to adopt one of our Goldens must complete an application and home visit. We will verify the care of your current or previous pets with your veterinarian, and ensure that any pets in your home have been altered. Our volunteers are committed to our Goldens and to the humane treatment of all animals. We work to promote responsible pet ownership within the community through the advocacy of spay/neuter education.
