The guinea pig is a small, gentle rodent native to South America. Popular as pets, they have compact bodies, short legs, and no tail. Guinea pigs are social, vocal animals that thrive in groups and communicate with a variety of sounds. They eat mainly hay, vegetables, and pellets. With proper care, they can live 5–7 years. Their friendly nature and ease of handling make them ideal companions for families and children.
