We are under contract to receive all stray animals from the City of Athens and the County of Limestone. We also take unwanted animals from the public. We have active volunteers who work very hard finding rescue organizations for our animals.

We started many years ago as a TNR group for feral cats. Naturally you also get many scared, dumped domestic animals. Ferals had no advocates in our area when we started. Thankfully now, we've been working with our local animal control and they are finally not destroying all animals deemed feral. Unfortunately, there are still too many breeding animals (feral and domestic) that need help so we can stop the needless, mass reproduction. Sometimes that's a well-meaning individual who feeds cats and after a couple of years, realizes there is a problem, or it could be an elderly person who can't afford to vet their animals. The animals not only need our advocacy but occasionally the people we help do as well. We adopt the animals that can be adopted and find special placement for others that aren't so readily "adoptable".

We are working to end euthanasia of adoptable pets in Huntsville, AL and then help other counties and cities do the same.

We take in stray, dumped and abandoned pups, pull from the local kill shelters and net work with other rescues in the area as well as a few partners up north to find wonderful homes for this deserving pups.

Alabama Parrot Rescue is a private, non-commercial organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of domesticated parrots. We strive to correct behavioral issues of birds that may not possess the proper socialization skills, so that they can live out their lives as an active member of a loving family. As parrot owners for many years, it became obvious to us that there was a need for a rescue service that simply did not exist in this area, therefore we started one. With the help of local media, APR has become the primary point of contact for all bird related rescue and adoption cases.

Marshall County AL Animal Control picks up stray pets and with the help of volunteers posts them to the internet so that they might find homes or rescues. Marshall County AL can only hold an animal for 7 days.

We are an all breed dog and cat rescue group. We save animals from local shelters and put them in foster homes while they get appropriate vetting and adopt them out.

We are an animal rescue group that takes in pets from kill shelters, the abandoned living on the streets, and the very urgent owner surrenders. We have a love of animals and they need us to be their voice. We are a all volunteer based 501c3 pending non profit organization registered with the State of Alabama.

The Cullman Area Animal Welfare Association (CAAWA) is a non-profit, all volunteer, no-kill organization that rescues dogs and cats in Cullman county. Our mission is to decrease the number of animals surrendered to our local animal shelter through the rescue and interception of at risk dogs and cats, and by providing low cost spay/neuter assistance

Adopt-a-Kitty is an all species/breed caregiver to lost, homeless, and unwanted pets that are in need, locally and in nearby surrounding areas, concentrating mainly on cats and kittens. We accept “special needs” pets as well, when in need. In the last 5 years, we have placed hundreds of animals, a good portion pulled from high kill shelters. Our mission in life is to love, care for, and PLACE animals who haven't been given a chance. All pets are tested, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, etc. prior to adoption. We provide a safe place for our rescued pets to stay until a forever family can be found. We are a no kill shelter.
