The Brittany Foundation Animal Sanctuary

The Brittany Foundation is a public charity which rescues, rehabilitates, rehomes and provides safe shelter for homeless dogs. Our rescue efforts focus on dogs which no one else might adopt from "kill" shelters, such as geriatric, disabled, severe neglect dogs. We also rescue puppy mill victims, strays and dogs from foreclosure and hospice situations. In addition to being a rescue, we are also a sanctuary for those dogs who might never be adopted. We care for them for life.

Cats In Need of Human Care is a 501C nonprofit, a network of volunteers, with several chapters throughout Orange County. Each chapter operates individually. We are Cats In Need of Human Care in Whittier, commonly known as CIN Whittier. If you are interested in fostering or adopting, please contact us. The more fosters we have, the more lives we can save! We also are the only CIN location to have a internship program where middle school and high school students (with adult supervision) come and spend time with cats, allowing them human interaction, exercise, and much needed love. Cats In Need of Human Care Whittier Chapter services Whittier and the surrounding cities, although we do get people from many different areas interested in adoption. Adoption fees range from $100-$150. Fees charges are to cover basic care, food, spay / neutering, vaccinations, vet visits costs. potential adopters are to complete an adoption form and we will determine if you and your desired cat are a good match. Questions that may be asked: will your pet be outdoors, declawed, are there other pets or children in the house. In the unfortunate event that your beloved kitty does not fit into your home, we require that he/she be returned to Cats In Need Whittier. Our adoption hours are every weekend, Saturday and Sunday from noon – 5pm. We are located inside PetSmart Whittier. Download the pet adoption form: http://www.catsinneed.com/downloads/AdoptionApplication-2013.pdf Cats In Need of Human Care is an organization of volunteers who co-operate with one another and the community to find good, loving homes for homeless pets, promote spay/neuter and responsible ownership. Cats in Need is a completely volunteer run organization that focus on adopting kitties into great forever homes. We showcase our fosters online through our Facebook Page (Cats In Need) as well as through RescueMe.org & AdoptAPet.com. We depend on donations to cover the basics: food, medical care (shots and spay/neuter) for the kitties until they go home to their new families. With the shelters overtaxed, many of these kitties would likely be killed due to sheer population overload and not enough public funds to support them. Help us help the kitties!

Joy of Life Rescue is a Southern California rescue. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a physical address or facility. We rely solely on the help of our dedicated volunteer foster parents who offer their time and resources to house, train, transport and care for our pets until they are adopted. Our mission is to help establish and acknowledge the safety and welfare of all pets in need. All of our pets are vet checked, spayed/neutered, vaccinated appropriate to age, micro-chipped, groomed, trained and/or rehabilitated and treated for any and all other medical conditions; with the possible exception of pregnant or nursing mothers and young litters, but will be as directed by a California state licensed veterinarian prior to adoption.

We focus on rescuing and rehabilitating them in loving foster homes until they are adopted into their permanent homes. All of our animals are examined by a vet, spayed/neutered, and vaccinated. We are a 100% volunteer run and supported organization that cannot survive without the help of loving fosters, volunteers and benefactors.

Hearts & Hands Animal Rescue became a non-profit 502(c)(3) in 2010, but has been operating as a privately funded rescue for 10 years prior in this same location. After we lost the entire ranch in the 2007 CA Wildfires, we founded Hearts & Hands Animal Rescue as a non-profit so that we could continue to serve our communities. We not only rescue dogs, cats, horses and other domestic and farm pets, but we conserve the two endangered species of zebra and the Wild Mongolian Horse, the Przewalski's horse. Our animals in recovery give back by sharing their stories of recovery with our wounded warriors and children with needs. Once an animal has fully recovered, we then search for that perfect adoptive home for him/her where they will live out their lives forever with proper care, love and affection. Nancy Nunke, one of our co-founders has been rescuing animals for her lifetime. She has spent 40 years with all animals, but learned from the zebras how to finally communicate with animals using their own language, including behavior and vocalizations. With this knowledge turned skill, she is able to become best friends with her Friendship Training TM with any species. Everyone who steps through the gates of Hearts & Hands Animal Rescue talks about the "magic" there. Interspecies friendships are seen everywhere and humans are seen talking in full sentences to the animals, and the animals are seen responding in ways that are simply amazing.

We operate a comprehensive trap-neuter-return program for feral cats that includes trap loans, trapping assistance, spaying and neutering, and assistance with ongoing colony management. We provide foster care and adoptions for homeless and at-risk kittens and cats, and occasionally for dogs.

The Orland Town & Country Humane Society was founded in 1992 and is a NO KILL shelter providing care and comfort to our furry residents until they find their forever homes. We are one of the few NO KILL shelters in the State and the only one in the North State. Our goal is to find loving homes for all the lost, abandoned and otherwise unwanted animals that come through our door, and to provide education to the public concerning animal care and the importance of spaying and neutering.
