My name is Crystal Dyrdahl, im the lead tech/manager here at Animal Care Clinic in El Sobrante California. This is a full service veterinary hospital. At times we do rescue cats and dogs who are in need of medical attention, i.e, parvo, hit by car, fractures, ect. When their owners can not pay for their pet's needs, ACC will step in, rescue the animal and provide medical and/or surgical care untill he/she is ready to find a home. This is were I hope you come in to help us. Being able to place these animals pics and bio's on your web site and then to all the others will increase these animals chances of finding a great home. All of us here at ACC become bonded with our furry friends during their treatment and recovery, we want nothing more but to find an amazing and loving home for all of them.

German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County (GSROC) is a non-profit 501c(3) charity organization dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and re-homing purebred German Shepherd Dogs that have no where else to turn. We are an all volunteer organization with no paid staff. We are funded entirely by private donations and receive no government support. Dogs for adoption are housed in foster home situations and in private boarding facilities. Currently, we do not own our own kennel facility, but our dream is to have one some day so that we can eliminate the tremendous expense associated with boarding the dogs while they wait for their forever families.

Russell Rescue, Inc. (RRI) is a network of volunteers dedicated to placing unwanted or abandoned Jack Russells into permanent homes. The Network arranges for emergency rescues throughout the country, and gathers information designed to match appropriate permanent and temporary homes. It is funded by donations and supported by Jack Russell Terrier lovers and volunteers throughout the world. The majority of the dogs that end up in Rescue are unwanted simply for being Jack Russells by nature and behavior. Owners often find that they were unprepared for the care required for this high energy terrier; they did not understand the nature of the breed, and their instinctive desire to hunt. Owners are often gone all day, and therefore unable to provide the time, attention, and strenuous exercise this little dog requires. We would like to emphasize that JR's need an active lifestyle, as they are hunting dogs by instinct. The goal of the Russell Rescue, Inc. is to have this unique hunting terrier be in the protective care of those who thoroughly understand this dog. This is a very unique dog that arrives in any life with a special set of needs not suited to everyone. They get into trouble. If they cannot find trouble, they create it. If bored, they can apply their extreme intelligence in destructive ways. They require an educated owner and a loving caretaker willing to provide what this dog needs to be happy and safe. Most of life with them involves protecting them from themselves and their own demise. They rarely lack courage and don't take to abuse, even accidental abuse.

The Barking Lot

San Diego

info@thebarkinglot.net(619) 354-4825
The seed for The Barking Lot was planted a few years back when I took in my first foster dog, Patti Cake, in hopes of making a bigger impact by helping my favorite furry friends. Before I knew it, I was put on some rescue email list and received an email stating, "This dog to be put down on Tuesday at 3pm". I was utterly horrified and jumped into action figuring out how I could save her. Well, I did and I'm glad to report Raspberry (my nephew named her!) is living happily in Encinitas to this day! After getting her adopted, I thought, "That wasn't so tough." And so it goes...over 900 dogs adopted into loving home and 3 years later...we have The Barking Lot. As well as being wonderful companions, dogs are amazing teachers and we've learned so much from them...first and foremost that they all deserve a chance at a better life and their behavior will balance beautifully if their needs are meet and good leadership is applied. These pups will be the most grateful creatures you've encountered. We rescue our furry friends from area shelters, humane societies and Mexico as they are at risk of being euthanized and/or abandoned. We are a small organization with a handful of key volunteers and we are just getting started as a 501c3 non-profit, so we're looking for more volunteers to add to the fun and reward! We need both people and donations to help our furry friends, so we'd be grateful for either. Please contact Stacy

After spending years watching the shelter system deteriorate, watching countless of beautiful pets die, a vision of what could be began to take shape. Initially it was a dream. Soon a blue print for implementation of this dream was in place. Finally a strategy for changes that would most significantly impact the inhumane conditions of these precious pets was arrived at. Then, in 1997, New Leash On Life Animal Rescue was born, thanks to Bobby & Kelly Dorafshar. Since its inception, New Leash On Life has been responsible for spaying and neutering thousands of pets, rescuing and placing over 3,000 dogs, providing free educational seminars at local shelters, setting shelter rescue priorities on “hard to place” animals requiring medical or special care, founding the P.E.T.’s program (Pet Educational Trainers) and co-founding Partners for Life which saved hundreds at the East Valley Animal Shelter. Finally in March of 2002, a lease was signed on thirteen acres in the Santa Clarita Valley for our E.R.A Center (Education, Rehabilitation and Adoption) which serves as a safe haven for many companion animals and a learning resource for children and adults facilitating New Leash On Life’s dream of making Los Angeles a no-kill city. We've recently developed our Lend a Paw program, rescuing dogs from the shelter and training them as assistance and therapy dogs for people and children in need. In addition to our Lend a Paw training program, we are implementing a training program for all of our rescues. It is our goal to put each dog rescued from the shelter through an obedience training course prior to being placed for adoption. A very select few may be chosen for Lend a Paw, while most will be adopted to loving families immediately. By training each dog, the adoptive family has a better chance of developing a better bond and a permanent relationship. In addition, our dogs get a lot of human attention from our training volunteers while they wait for their new home.
