PAWS Rescue Group is an incorporated, non-profit 501c3 rescue organization dedicated to rescuing homeless and abandoned animals, primarily dogs from high-kill shelters and owners who can no longer care for them. By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, local veterinarians, trainers, and boarding facilities, we are able to rescue hundreds of animals every year, provide them with loving temporary care, and find them well-matched, carefully screened forever homes. We also serve as a resource to our community and all pet owners by providing education and information on responsible pet ownership, including the importance of spay/neuter, positive behavior training, and good nutrition. PAWS Rescue Group is committed to be a NO-KILL rescue organization despite any challenges that may arise in health or behavior. Many of our fosters are experienced in dog training and rehabilitation and all of our volunteers are committed to giving our rescue dogs and puppies lots of love to restore their faith in human beings. At this time PAWS Rescue Group Inc. is established in the states of Virginia and Florida.

I have a passion for saving lives in this over population world where so many, too many are being put down due to the economy and breeding. I will not contribute to the over population in this world! I was working with other Rescue that allowed me to save lives from kill shelters and I did all the Vetting myself and did all the adoptions, found fosters which also have to complete applications with same requirements

Our Mission To relieve animal suffering To prevent animal cruelty To eliminate overpopulation of animals To promote humane education To enhance the human/animal bond The Leon County Humane Society is Tallahassee's largest no kill, non-profit animal welfare organization dedicated to saving Tallahassee's homeless pets by educating our community about responsible pet ownership and reducing pet overpopulation through programs like Spay/Neuter, Rescue Ride, and Friends Fur Life. Because we are a no-kill organization, we are also a “limited intake” shelter. The Leon County Humane Society works closely with other animal welfare agencies in the community and transfers animals in from other shelters that euthanize for space, including the Tallahassee Leon Community Animal Services Center (City Shelter). We do not take animals in from the public. Once an animal is accepted in our foster and adoption program they are not euthanized for space reasons. Unless there are medical or behavioral issues that develop, deeming an animal un-adoptable, a cat or dog will stay in our adoption program until they find their forever home. Tallahassee is an APSCA Partnership Community, and LCHS is thrilled to be one of the organizations included in this innovative program. Over the next 3-5 years, the Partnership organizations and ASPCA will be working together to reduce the homeless pet population in Tallahassee and provide much needed resources for the pets in our area
