Collie Rescue of Greater Illinois, Inc. is a nonprofit corporation established in 1995. We provide shelter and care to purebred Collies which have been abandoned or turned in to shelters. The Collies are placed in temporary foster homes until a permanent home can be found. Our commitment is to place the Collies in the best possible permanent home to give them a second chance in life. We have successfully placed Collies ranging in age from five weeks to twelve years. Prospective families that wish to adopt a Collie will be interviewed. Basic information about the family, pet ownership history and why they want a Collie is requested. Our goal is to achieve a successful match between the Collie and the adopting family. We want a happy ending to every rescue story, and part of that process is selecting a suitable Collie to fit into the lifestyle and needs of the adopting family.

ISDF is dedicated to saving the lives of street dogs around the world. Our main mission is to raise awareness of issues facing these dogs. We believe that change begins with awareness. There is no more effective method of getting governments who allow inhumane treatment of dogs to change, than for them to feel pressure from the international community. If they believe their global public image is being tarnished and therefore, their tourist revenue is being affected, history has demonstrated time and again that they will start paying attention. ISDF also rehomes dogs in extreme need. We believe each life counts and each dog placed in the USA helps to support the main mission of raising awareness. That one dog, saved and now living the American dream, will have their story told over and over again, thus spreading the word in the most effective way – through firsthand experience. We may not be able to change the world overnight, but we will not allow that to be an excuse to do nothing. We all can do something to help spur change. ISDF is working to change the world…one dog at a time. Please help us in our mission – the dogs of the world are counting on us! ISDF has no paid employees and no overhead costs so you can rest assured 100% of your donation goes to improving the circumstances of dogs around the world.

We were formed to assist Tazewell County Animal Control - a high kill shelter in Tremont IL. We work to advertise the available animals, and partner with other rescue groups locally and in Chicago to transport the animals into the no kill shelters or rescue groups. We provide (Pro bono) veterinary services such as FElV/FIV testing, heart worm testing, vaccinating, etc. at the shelter to assist in the transfer to the other rescues. We attend local events and distribute information about the adoptable animals, local spay/neuter programs, and low cost wellness clinics. We plan to hold low cost rabies vaccination clinics in the near future.

4 Paw Luv Rescue NFP

Illinois

info@4pawluv.org(630) 230-8870
Our organization is completely run by volunteers, everyone from the President to the person cleaning cages. We have 2 main focus areas. The first is that we want to find adoptable, homeless animals their forever home. We know that there currently is not enough room to hold all the stray cats in this area because of the government run shelters performing euthanasia to make more space for incoming animals. While we are no-kill and have limited space, we can still help take in some of the highly adoptable animals that would have been euthanized and find them a great home. Our volunteers love to care for the animals and get great joy in finding them that great home. A lot of them feel like every cat in the organization is their own. The second focus is that we want to resolve the over-population of cats issue in Chicago and its suburbs. To do this, we provide low-cost spay/neuter services to low-income people and rescues as well as provide trap/neuter/return services for feral cats. There are many rural farmers and people in surrounding counties to Chicago that just do not have the income to get the cats on their farm neutered, and so they start to accumulate very quickly. We have been able to assist many farms in slowing down and even stopping the growth of the number of cats on their farm and some of the cats from these farms we find great homes for! Overall, we enjoy what we do, helping both people with their pets and animals, and helping the animals too.
