To promote adoptions and rescue of the animals in our care. We are not open for any intakes from the public, and can only take in dogs that are called in by the Livingston Parish Sheriffs office.

I'm Donna Rome, I help pet rabbits which are abandoned or unwanted in some way by taking them in, loving on them, getting them spayed and neutered, and finding suitable adoptive families. I also educate potential and present rabbit owners of vital bunny info and links to helpful sites. I run BUNN AGAIN RABBIT RESCUE where 2nd HAND BUNS are #1 . Hail Mary Rescue's specific mission is to rescue, rehabiliate and re-home dogs facing euthanasia in the parish shelter. Mary Morvant is a life-long resident of Lafourche Parish and would like to see a kinder, more compassionate way of dealing with homeless dogs. She has over 40 yrs. experience as a trainer, groomer and boarding kennel owner.

Our Mission The SPCA of LIVINGSTON is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The mission of SPCA of Livingston is to raise awareness of the plight of animals in southeastern Louisiana, to teach and foster good pet parenting practices, as well as, to promote spay and neuter programs to help alleviate the need to destroy healthy and adoptable pets. We believe we can accomplish this mission through our community outreach and education programs. The SPCA of Livingston primarily takes in owner surrender animals which are headed to an animal control facility or from kill shelters located in Livingston, EBR , WBR and Ascension Parishes - when contacted directly by a shelter director. The SPCA of Livingston does not rescue stray animals inside the city limits of any city which has its own animal control unless requested to do so by that city's animal shelter director. The SPCA of Livingston can and will rescue state wide from "kill shelters" answering the plea of a shelter director or representative  for a kill shelter as funds and foster homes permit.

To date, Animal Aid for Vermilion Area, a non profit 501(c)3 animal rescue organization established in 1995, located in South Louisiana, has helped rescue thousands of animals. AAVA has worked through 5 natural disasters, including hurricanes Katrina and Rita. In the aftermath of Katrina, they helped unite people with their pets and saved cattle from drowning and starving. AAVA also helped pass the Pet Evacuation Bill that keeps service animals and pets from being left behind during a disaster. AAVA has been helping animals and their owners for over 25 years, and one of their goals is to rescue and rehome as many animals as possible from the local Animal Control facility, a high kill pound with no adoption program. While all pounds are always full of dogs and cats for adoption, we are facing a particular challenge: this is a high kill pound with no adoption program

West Baton Rouge Parish Shelter is a kill shelter.

I, Ninna Lopez, have been in rescue since 2007, managing a large no-kill shelter before starting Ninna's Road to Rescue in 2012. We have rescued and rehomed 1000's of animals. Our facility is climate controlled and the animals stay indoors at night in specially designed doggy rooms. They have access to the outdoors during the day in a large fenced in area. It's a little bit of paradise for the dogs until they find their furever home.

I love dogs. I have saved dogs since I was a small girl. I feel like they didn't asked to be brought into this world and I can't stand the thought of them being mistreated or killed

Pet Savers' mission is to rescue, protect, and place abandoned or unwanted pets and provide funds for neutering, spaying, and other veterinary care.

I am the Volunteer Shelter Director, and am responsible for all areas facets of shelter operations, except for fundraising. I do this job because I love all animals, especially cats, and want to do what I can to help them.
